I love camping, especially in the fall. But it's going to be unusually chilly next weekend so I was thinking of investing in one.

I use a Mr Heater Portable Buddy.

I've used it in both my tents and in my van. Only the front of the heater gets hot and the bottom, back and sides remain very cool. The area you're heating MUST be ventilated and venting instructions are in the manual that comes with the heater. The oxygen depletion sensor (ODP) will prevent the heater from working at altitudes higher than 6,000 - 7,000 ft. where the oxygen levels are lower. They're easy to find at Home Depot and Lowe's and they are certified for indoor use.

I have 2 small propane personal heaters. One has a fan that is operated by 4 D-batteries. I used it when it was just around zero degrees F. outside. A smaller tent works better to keep war,. I never ran it more then an hour or so. Just to take the chill off.

I have a Mr. Buddy tent heater, but we've only used it when we were camping in temps of 29 degrees F or lower. How cold is going to be next weekend - where are you?

Better to use insulated air mats and good sleeping bags. And don't use a massive huge tent. All the heaters in the world won't help you in a jumbo tent.

you can buy a sleeping bag that will keep you warm down to 0 deg, so why take a chance on dieing from carbon monoxide when you just need a better sleeping bag,
camping is to get out , dress for the weather, if you want heat stay home,

Better to bring an additional insulating layer of clothing and either a warmer sleeping bag, sleeping bag liner or sleeping bag overbag. Eliminate a lot of effort and worry.
