Having been a caterer: I used for the little dinner rolls you find on the bread aisle for this type of item. You can sometimes find them in a variety of breads: Potato, White, Wheat, and Pumpernickel. Sometimes the bakery in your grocery store makes these types of rolls, and they will slice the rolls for you for free or for a light charge.

Why not just get small sub rolls? Sub rolls are a lot easier to eat sandwiches on then regular bread. You can buy them in packages of 6 or 8. They should be near the bakery or deli section of your local grocery store. For even fresher rolls, try a bakery.

Well you could use mini sandwich rolls, or slice a french loaf. You might want to think of having a few options anyhow, like a mini rye or wheat, as well as a white bread.

I think most people use the cocktail rye but because it is sooo strong they also usually offer a sourdoug. I usually find those in the small as well. Also the mini bagels work great! Good luck and have fun ...

personally i don't care for cocktail rye with the meats you are having so an alternative would be to provide white and wheat and cut the bread in half

It's called jawa-jawa bread. Difficult to find in supermarkets but call some local bakeries - there will be some that carry it. Good luck!

Try calling a local bakery. Many times you can order assorted dinner rolls from them. Or how about mini crossiants? That would look even fancier.
