morningstar farms vegi corn dogs are the best, imho.and they taste good nuked to. vegi burger products (patties and vegi ground beef) don't really taste right unless you fry them in oil and they get a bit of burnt crust to them.i think the vegi ground beef is good when fried, seasoned, and added to spagetti sauce.. also, i'm still not a big fan of the burgers by themselves and have to cover them with additional items(avocado and cheese,my two favs.) to mask their flavor and texture.don't mind that they don't taste that good because i know i'm not eating meat. rather eat egg and potato burritos, bean and rice burritos. bean and cheese nachos, grilled cheese ,and mac and cheese with a couple spoons of peas(and my vegi corn dogs!).

Why have their been 2 people so far that say "fish isn't considered meat?!?" What do you think of they're made out of in the event that they are not made out of meat?? according to danger you're no longer conscious that they have eyes and brains too!!! in any case, there are quite a few "floor purple meat selections" to boot to the manufacturers Boca Burger and Morningstar, verify out Tofurkey's internet site... you will come across their products in maximum chain grocery shops yet you're starting to be extra decision at an organic and organic nutrients food market, like Earth basic... a number of those in spite of the fact that meatless, won't be considered vegan because of the fact they use an egg product as a binder, they are going to be categorised hence and their are innovations for each. different than those processed selections, I actually have a meatloaf recipe employing black beans, tahini, and grape nuts...

It honestly depends on where you live.

I'm from Canada, and I love to eat Sol burgers, or the PC brand Portobello and Swiss Vegetarian Burgers.

When I was in the UK, I loved Quorn mini-sausages and Quorn 'chicken' deli meat. When I was in the States, I got Boca burgers or morningstar farms veg sausage.

You can get tofu pretty much anywhere, and firm tofu is pretty delicious when you cook it with lots of spices. If you live near Asian markets, you can find tasty stuff like 'tofu puffs' and 'fried tofu' which are little crispy balls of puffy tofu that you can throw into stir-fries and curries.

Try lentils, chickpeas, and beans as other protein substitutes. I love lentil soup (it's really easy to make) and chickpea curry. If you live near a good grocery store or a health food shop, you can try quinoa as a source of protein as well. It tastes a bit like rice and cooks similarly, so you can just use it in place of rice in a recipe, and has 25 grams of protein per cooked cup (according to the nutritional card I got from Bulk Barn).

TVP is another soy product that's pretty cheap, generally, and easy to cook with. You just throw it into pasta sauce or liquidy chili and it rehydrates and takes on the taste of whatever it's cooked in. I like to buy the 'fake chicken' or 'fake beef' broth cubes to cook with to make it taste a little more like food I ate before going meatless.

Remember, you don't have to eat expensive meat-analogs to keep to vegetarianism.

I hear what your saying, and you're saying that being a vegetarian isn't working out for you. Come back to the home team, ma'am. There's plenty of real beef here for all. It's what's for dinner.

I am nuts about this stuff called Viana, a German company that makes amazing mock meats. Their "Chickin" Fillets are fabulous. They also have nuggets, Cowgirl Steaks, sausage, gyro, and kabobs.

You can get them at either www.veganessentials.com or www.veganstore.com.

The closest ones can be found in the frozen section of your local healthfood store. Soy burgers, "chik'n", breakfast "sausage", "ground beef", etc.
