There are two reasons usually given for cannibalism, ritual and nutrition. Ritual cannibals eat other humans as part of a ceremony, usually the cannibalism is to benefit the community or specific people in the community. Nutritional cannibalism is just that, humans consuming other humans for food. In truth cannibalism is more complex as ritual cannibals almost always subsist on low protein diets and they certainly gain by cannibalism. At the same time, I am not aware of any society that practices cannibalism without some sort of ceremony used as justification.

Cannibals do as cannibal does. I understand they prefer a nice veggie fed vegan. A bit stringy and not as well marbelized as a flexarian, but they don't put up a fight and they are easy to keep penned up ....just give them lots of veggies to graze on.

It is their way of life, not much different than eating anything else as compared to western world eating meat, or rice or veggies. Not everyone has the same culture or customs. Some cultures would think our consummation for pork or beef would be gross, but at the same time they might enjoy eating dog meat. Before you think something is gross, look at your own way of life through others eyes.

I dont think there are many cannibals in the world today...But I consider people who eat animal meat to also be cannibals becuase humans are considered animals (mammals) and so are cows..go figure.

If you are going on that tangent then its gross eating an animal.
People are animals so therefor its like we commit cannibalism when ever we eat an animal.
Think about this for a while.
Why was this under the vegan/vege category?
we vegans/veggies dont eat anything with a face or a mother.

Those that did usually ate some (not all) of the flesh of warriors of the opposing tribes to take in the strength of the warriors.
