Since hearing on the news that people today have less of an immunity due to how clean we are with laminate?

flooring etc, my elderly father thinks it is helpfull(in building his immunity) by being less clean which is actually resulting in him getting more infections etc. I have tried to explain to him that he has misundertood the message and that he is actually weakening him immune system by making it constantly work--to no avail. Has anyone got any idea of how i can better explain this to him?
