Last night a few things went down, oral sex obviously being one of them. I did this with a guy who is not my boyfriend but we've been friends for a long time...he lost his virginity about a year ago and had only slept with that one girl until recently when they broke up, I know he's slept with another girl who is not quite reputable, but as I was informed, they used protection. My throat is sore today and I'm really not feeling too well, I know this is a symptom of gonorrhea, but I'm not sure if it's anything to worry about...like does it happen randomly and is it unrelated to gonorrhea? Or should I get it checked out?

It may just be a sore throat. Gonorrhea shows up after 2 days..

You have been rather indiscreet. Had you had oral sex with your regular partner in normal sex this doubt would not have been there since you know him literally inside out. Moreover this contact you are talking about on your own say had flirted with girls after he broke with his regular. You do not know and had no way to find out if any of these middlewomen were infected. In such cases you should have avoided such indiscreetion. Now that it has happened and you are haing a sore throat and are uncomfortable you should immediately go to a doctor and have a thorouth medicalcheck up. If necessary you can prevail upon this recent contract to take you to a doctor and find out if he had been infected for he may otherwise deny his involvement And one these overhung clouds are cleared resolve to yourself that you would not be so inscreet in future.

You more than likely just made your throat sore from the action but just to be on the safe side go see the doctor for a check up.

If it just happened last night I would imagine it's too soon for an STD to actually show symptoms. Your throat could be sore and red simply from the physical act, especially if his name is Mr. Ed!!

Well, the incubation period for gonnorhea is 2 to 10 days, sometimes longer. If you just had your contact last night, you wouldn't have symptoms yet. You're obviously looking for something to be wrong if you're examing your throat, so I wouldn't be surprised to learn that this is in your head. :)

Bear in mind that, when performing felatio, you're essentially using every muscle from the chest up. Also, you're probably applying suction to the blood vessels in your mouth and throat, causing them to dilate. That could account
for the redness.

It sounds like it could be GRIDS. I know they say it cannot be passed on through hetorsexuals sex, but it sounds like it. I am a doctor, but not since 1981 so I am not sure I am up to date on my name of the std. Go get checked out and remember condoms can be used during oral sex.

not gonorrhea. get it checked out though. may just be some irritation due to some disturbance of the microbs on the throat.

Get it checked out on the safe side! Sometimes the movement of giving oral will make your throat sore....unless he was a big guy and you could not accomidate him properly in your throat/mouth....but please get it checked out
