on the monistat box it says dont use without talking to doctor. is it safe if i use it

For the most part it is safe to use without talking to your doctor (they wouldn't have it available over the counter if it wasn't safe).

If that doesn't work for you though, then I'd suggest you see your doctor. They can give you a prescription for fluconazole (brand name is Diflucan). It's usually given as one tablet and can be repeated if the infection is really bad. Good luck to you!

Yes, it's safe to use. If you have never had a yeast infection before, you should see the doctor, but once you have a yeast infection, you're not likely to forget what it's like so save your money on a doctor's visit and just buy monistat.

The reason it says that is because not all infections are yeast infections..It could be an STD, or just a normal discharge. It is ALWAYS important to check with a doctor first! However, if you know for SURE thats it is a yeast infection, take it, and if it doesn't work, then go to the doctor.

there are these tests you can buy over the counter now that tell you if you have a yeast infection or if you should see a dr. you should try one of those first..
