Presently we give him Zertec or some other cough syrups which puts him to sleep. I have started giving warm ginger syrup & honey in the morning. Any sugesstions.

Take your child to the doctor to have allergy tests run on him. And you should not medicate him to sleep, try some home remedies until you get him to the doctor. If I'm not mistaken Zertec is a perscription for allergies?? And for adults? Try just something simple like children's Benedryl.

For your son's sake, better to treat what he HAS rather than treating it by guesswork. The Dr. to take him to would be an Allergy and Asthma Dr. They can do the testing, if needed, and can treat him very specifically for his ailment. Asthma is nothing to fool around with. It can get very serious very fast, as well as being both distressing and damaging to his lungs.
