Beer contains a lot of calories besides alcohol (which is of low concentration as compared to whiskey or rum).
These calories will in fact give you more energy for exercising but as far as muscle building is concerned, it won't contribute much because you need calories in the form of proteins. These proteins breakup to become amino acids and aminoacids are the building blocks of muscles.

Because it is a poison, and thus your body stops many vital processes in catharsis, purging. You become dehydrated, the liver takes water from everywhere without regard to process the alcohol. You have a hangover because your brain has shrunk inside your skull from dehydration. And, with muscles: water is in every cell in your body, it is the most vital ingredient, and any muscle growth uses it so yes it will.
Prudence is key, drinking in moderation isn't a problem and if you do binge, drink lots of water to compensate. At the end of the binge "neck" a liter before you go to bed, it can be hard to do, but your body will thank you for it.

Yes because I end up dropping the dumb bells and flirting with the women. Next thing I know I'm banging some girl I met at the gym and I haven't been to the gym for two weeks. Isn't beer great. Beer has helped me to workout with the most important muscle I have.
