I got pressured by an older guy to give oral about 3 years ago, and become undressed. Since then I have not been involved in any sort of sexual activity.

I may have a BV or yeast infection right now, I am not sure yet.

Aside from that though, my ears are pierced, I wore cheap earrings, and they're really infected.

My one lymph node right beneath my right ear is swollen and has been for sometime .. not to the point you can see it, but it's definitely swollen.

My question is .. could this be a sign of HIV or could my infected ears have caused this swelling for some time??

I've always had a sore throat on and off for the past month, but that could be due to the enviornment I'm currently in.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I know you can never be sure until you physically go to the doctor, but any ideas would be really great. I'm really worried.

When I get ear infections, my throat and lymph glands swell..so no, it probably isn't H.I.V...get some antibiotics for the ear infections..and take a test, ..I am sure you will be negative, and it will give you some peace of mind..use some peroxide on the ears in the meantime, and keep them dry and clean...the yeast infection can be from many things...but wouldn't neccessarily come from three years ago. It has been hot, and if you wore stockings, it is a breeding place for those kind of infections..go get checked out, I doubt if it is something really, really serious..stay well

I'm so sorry! You should know that there are many women who go through their whole lives without feeling pressured to do any sort of sexual act -- and I hope that you'll get to be one of them, that that experience will be a one-time thing. (Not that you'll never -do- anything, just that you'll only do what you both want.)

Okay, I know nothing about medicine, but your symptoms don't sound like AIDS, especially. They could be almost anything -- for instance, you could be very busy, not sleeping enough, eating poorly, and just generally run-down, so you get infections at every turn.

Or you could have mono, of course.

Be sure you tell the doctor everything and be very clear about -how- worried you are and exactly -what- you're worried about.

I've found that doctors don't know unless you tell them whether you are (a) complaining about a symptom you want relieved or (b) worrying that you may have a serious disease.

If you don't explain clearly, you may find yourself with ointment for your ears, medicine for the yeast, and mouthwash for your throat -- and no answer to your real questions.

really think you are overreacting, If your really worried I would go get tested at your doctors or go to a free clinic. More then likely your lymph nodes are swollen due to your infected ear. My lymph nodes get swollen all the time when I get sick or something and your sore throat could just be allergies. I would make sure you clean your ear and help get get better though. And go to the doctor if your really that worried. But I wouldnt be too worried.

I totally agree with the speculation that the figures are political and inaccurate. The spread of HIV/AIDS is vast n rather pathetic that some people are choosing to be ignorant about this. is.

For your possible yeast infection you should go to the store and buy a kit and see if that works...if not go to your doctor.

For your infected ears....you probably have very sensitive skin and can't wear fake stuff. take me for example i can't wear fake jewelry or jewelry with nickel or else my ears get infected and hurt like no tomorrow. Clean your ears with peroxide and give it about a week and the swelling should go down.

The reasoning for your throat being sore could just mean your getting a cold possibly...try gargling warm salt water. again if it still hurts go to your doctor.

But as for HIV theres only one way to find out and that's going to your doctor, which I and any sane person would recommend you going immediately....

good luck.
