They vary. Herpes is incurable. HIV is fatal. CMV doesn't affect you unless you have something else, but then it can lead to your death. Some cause infertility. Some seem to mostly just lurk and spread to others.

Sort of, if left untreated syphilis can kill, chlamydia can lead to infertility and pelvic inflammatory disease, but here's the good news, both are easily tested for and both can be cured with a dose of antibiotics! There are a few others like this which have the same cure. This is why regular testing is important.
Herpes is generally not dangerous although unpleasant, but it doesn't come without it's complications. Women with herpes generally have to have a C-section to give birth. There is no cure, but there is treatment.
HIV/AIDS we know is dangerous.
HPV can cause cervical cancer, but there are many harmless strains of HPV. Another strain causes genital warts, which I believe may be unpleasant, but not necessarily dangerous.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.

Depends on what you class as dangerous. I would class things like herpes as just an inconvenience as it isn't fatal and depending on the person, doesn't really make you sick. The problem with genital herpes is more to do with the social stigma than anything that is dangerous.
