Regular exercise like brisk walking for 20-30 mins per day along with minimum sugar intake helps lot in diabetics.Also avoid eating rice at night, consume less alcohal, avoid red meat and try to eat fruits when feel hungry. a diet high in fiber that's vegetables moderate fruits avoiding meat chicken and fish and oils and fats plus no sulfides . hydrating to a gal of water a day is supposed to reduce the chance of stroke and heart attack by 68% according to bottom line health oh almost forgot no processed foods but whole grains and brown or wild unrefined rice low sugar if at all this is supposed to lower cholesterol and prostaglandins that help casue blockage to arteries .

As with any medicine or diet change, you should discuss it with your doctor. Fruits, both fresh and dried, have a natural sugar in them that will raise blood sugar levels, so be careful about eating too much. Not sure about the nuts. Moderation is always the key. I've been diabetic for 18 years and just recently changed insulin types. I love it because it gives me more freedom in when and what I eat.

i don't know much about diabetes, but when you diet and exercise, there's less cholesterol in your bloodstream. Cholesterol builds up and clogs your arteries, and when that happens in your brain and no blood can get through anymore, the artery bursts and causes a stroke.
