you dont say how it was diagnosed. here is a good website on diagnosing. http://www.herpesdiagnosis.com/diagnose.html
my sister's had it for about the same amount of time as you have and no one's ever gotten it from her. not even her husband. she didnt have a blood test, her dr just told her she had it. if i were you, id have another blood test and see what turns up. just maybe whoever told you was wrong. see a different doc, tho. good luck!

Have you tried non lates condoms? My boyfriend is also allergic to latex ones, we use durex avanti if we ever use them. Normally we don't use them at all. I laso have genital herpes and I agree there is too much fuss about what is only an irritating virus. I point blank refuse to take valtrex, I don't think it is worth it and I don't want those side effects. I'm lucky I have a partner who understands it is only the same as cold sores - although I watch for symptoms like a hawk and am very careful. If I had a partner who was long term who couldn't get over the herpes thing and always wanted protected sex for ever, I'm sorry but I'd be out the door like a flash. I would never take valtrex for anyone. Fortunately it isn't prescribed in the UK unlesss you get down on your hands and knees and beg - no one even knows it exists so I'm fine there.

Valtrex is a successful and often prescribed antiviral prescription drug that is used to control genital herpes Although Valtrex cannot cure herpes it will help with reducing the symptoms.
The anitivral drug works cuts down on the growth of the virus which drastically minimizes the spread of the virus in your body. It's important to know that it will not prevent it from being spread to someone else so precautions are necessary. It can be a trial to live with genital herpes.
Expect to have to deal with many problems, both physical and emotional. When you first contract the disease it will seem as if it is taking over your whole existence. Remember that there are presciption medications for herpes such as Valtex that will make life easier for you.
It should be taken immediately when the first burning and tingling appears. Don't wait for the blisters to show up.

People who have a disease such as HIV or Aids or any condition that may weaken the immune system should definitely consult their doctor before taking Valtrex.
Generic Valtrex - Valacyclovir
o Generic Valtrex (Valcyclovir) will do the same job as Valtrex and will most certainly help to make living with herpes that little bit more comfortable, and do it at a substantially cost.
Reducing the outbreaks and lowering the symptoms of the herpes virus will enable you to carry on living a normal life again.
Simply by taking common sense precautions you will be able to help fight the spread of the virus and have a normal and active sex life.

I got clinically diagnosed with genital herpes (type 2) about 4 yrs ago, whilst I was still in college and had a mindless one-night stand. I understand loads of young women say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date other men again. In the end, who wants to go out with a girl that has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/b5bKD everything got better.
Not only was I able to remove all remnants of the hsv from my system in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This program gave me back the chance to be happy and experience true love again. Now I hope that I can help others by sharing this story.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.

I'm with you, bro. I've never given it to anyone, I've always been honest... it's really not a big deal.
but because my current beau is a little paranoid, I take Valtrex every day.
I would prefer not to take it (as you said, it's expensive) but I consider it the price I pay to be with this super great guy.

Try female condoms.
They are latex free, and while a bit more expensive, possibly not as bad as the valrtex, which you obviously don't like to take.
