I originally came to the V&V section to support other people on their veggie journey. However, I have been seeing so much negativity here, that I honestly don't want to come here anymore. Is it possible for people to get along and not fight? Can we respect each other's views?

Thanks gnyparong, I am so glad you feel there is hope here. I have now decided to stay and I will continue to contribute and help promote veg*nism.

To answer your question(s): No, no, and no. Unfortunately

SURE. I haven't been around long, but I like to read the veggiehead rants. I think it's a great resource for humor, personally! I love the outrageous statements, the troll competing with veggieheads posting recipes, pomposity like Veggie Tart, Michael H. krister, any of the Ashley's, etc. It's a HOOT.

I really like all of the questions from veggieheads talking about bowel movements, flatulence, always some kind of nutrient deficiency, and the crazy comparisons between humans and animals. We read the V&V section during lunchtime and the humor it provides is just what we need to carry us to the end of the day.

Sometimes we do get a good recipe and we like that. I personally like a lot of veggie side dishes and there have been some good ones. Others are a good base for a meat, fish, poultry or seafood dish.

Thanks for the laughs and recipes. V&V is a great resource just as it is. This is the Fawlty Towers of YA. LOL.

'Is it possible for people to get along and not fight? Can we respect each others views'?

Well it works both ways chuck. Respect my point of view that eating meat is natural, tasty and nutritious, and I will respect yours that Veganism is the way forward. We will never agree but we can accept one anothers points of view.
And I think you will find that if you stop going off on one with your rants about meat eaters being murderers, demonstrating outside peoples houses because they happen to own a leather purse etc. Then people will be kinder.

Sure, if we kick out the trolls. And might I remind you, Miss Thing, that you have been responsible for some of the negativity on this board--or at least some of your many personae have. So if you leave, I will happily hold the door open for you while everyone waves goodbye.

Up until the 24th May 2007, this was a very informative and useful site.

Then you came along with your personal verbal attacks, negative attitude, extreme narrow mindedness, and poorly researched subject matter.

And you have the gall to insult every other user each time they fail to agree with you.

The start of every war has to have a common denominator, a catalyst if you will.

I would hate for you to ever be in a position of global authority as you single handedly would be responsible for the death of the entire planet.

'Get along and not fight' - you wish.

The problem is that even though this is the "vegetarian and vegan" forum, the questions are posted on the main page and on the food&drink page. So there are several people who are not vegetarians/vegans who think that not eating meat is wrong. So they get on here and post and poke fun of those who maintain a vegetarian life.

I wish people could be more understanding and more open to the lifestyle! But there are so many stereotypes and prejudices that people are too-close minded to overlook! I myself am not a vegetarian/vegan, but I respect that different people have different views!

This section has been, and continues to be, a great resource for me. I've received many insightful answers to my questions as I take this journey, and many more have been answered when I looked them up here.

I'll take this opportunity to extend my thanks to the many helpful vegs of YA.

Ashley, Nice Guy, Heather, some of us have memories, you obviously don't.

If you are really convinced you came here to "support other people on their veggie journey" I challange you to open up your question history so people can see your questions and answers from May-August.

Are you daft? With all the nutters on here? This is a hotbed of knee-jerk reactionaries, truly as stupid an assortment of self-serving, ego-centric, obsessives as I've ever seen.
