Is it possible for two people with O positive to have a child with O negative blood type?

Absolutely!
You only need one Rh+ to test positive.
So if both O+ parents are heterozygous for the Rh factor, then their children have a 25% chance of being Rh-.

oh yes. characteristics including blood types are determined by recessive and dominant alleles. do some research on punnet squares. think of it as a square with four boxes. on the top row there is the fathers blood type. he may be o+ and then o-. think of the mom as the vertical row with the one on top being o+ and the one on bottom being o-. so you kind of multiply across it would be much easier to show you with this with a picture but if you look up punnet squares you'll see what i mean. anyways you multiply in a sense the rows. so the dad's first square on top would meet the moms being a dominant o+ since both square are o+. take the dad's second row on top and meet the mom's, that would be o+ from the mom and o- from the dad which would make the baby o+ because that's dominant. then take the bottom row which would be dad o+ and mom o-, so once again the baby would be o+. however in that bottom right corner square the two o- meet. i know that's confusing but in essence there is like a 25% that this could happen.

Yes it is. Although you express one blood type, you inherit genes from each parent for a blood type. One is expressed- the type you are, and one is not. Depending on which gene you pass on to your child, you can have two parents with O positive have an O negative child. O type blood is a recessive gene, O type parents can only pass O type genes to their children.

RH negative is also recessive, negative parents can only pass negative genes to their children but positive parents could each be carrying one positive and one negative gene. If they both pass on the negative gene then the child will be negative, if they both pass onthe positive the child will be positive, if one passes on a positive and one a negative the child will be positive, so only a 1 in 4 chance of a negative child, 3 in 4 chance of a positive child.

I don't know if blood type is the same as the Rh type, but I'm O Rh - which caused some concerns during my pregnancies. My blood would take the fetus as being a danger to me and attack it, so at (I think it was) 6 months into my pregnancies I was given a shot to shield the baby from my body. I was given another shot after their were born to protect possible future pregnancies. That's the only thing I'm aware of.

Yes it is possible. Type O is dominant as is the positive. If both parents have a recessive negative it is possible and happens more often than you would expect.

I thought that the blood type depended on the mixture of the parents, but I recently gave blood and asked what my children could be if I'm o+ and daddy is o- and they said it's not the parents that determine blood type, but genetics.

I believe it's possible because of recessive characteristics. I'd have to pull out my Anatomy 102 notes, but I do believe it's possible.

no, because blood types are directly inherited.. it means that it can only comes from both parents not from extended families.
