Brownish discharge could simply be old blood from a prior period. It could also be from cervical erosion. And it could also be an STD. The only way to know is through testing.

Cervical erosion is a totally normal condition where the cells grow out of the cervix. This condition is caused by sexual intercouse, tampons and the insertion of a speculum so almost all females have it at one time or another...and usually frequently. In fact, most females aren't aware they have it because they have no symptoms and the doctor cauterizes it with special swabs during their routine gyn exam.

If you are worried about your mom finding out, find the nearest planned parenthood in your area and go see them. They can perform an exam to be sure that everything is fine. You really cannot let this go...expecially if your boyfriend and you were not both virgins when you first had sex or if neither of you are monogomous.
