Difficult answer!
Italian cuisine has a great variety of vegetables, cheese, meat and nearly every town has its own specialties.
The main difference between the regions is the use of olive oil (center and south) or butter (north). just to mention some:
fabulous hand made pasta and stuffed pasta (tagliatelle, lasagna, agnolotti..), sweet Parma ham, Parmigiano cheese in Emilia Romagna, fiorentina steak , chianti in Toscana;
a great variety of pasta with any kind of vegetables , mozzarella in napoli, (campania); Calabria and Lucania, kingdoms of hot pepper sausages, hand made pasta and bread (durum wheat);
finally the rich oriental style cuisine of Sicily where you can find the experience of Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Spaniards and..even Brits!

Italy, hands down. Other than that, San Francisco has what is supposed to be the best Italian restaurant in the United States. New York has its fare share of great Italian food.

Oh, please...no disrespect, but Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill suck big time.
Everywhere has at least a few superb Italian joints - just find 'em .

Of course in Italy; but on the real Buca Di Beppo is a really really great place to go eat; it's a nice family style restaurant and had a big chain. I also love their classico Chianti wine.

Italian food. Chinese people eat dog, cat, horse and money in there food. look up Chinese people eat on google
