First of all, it's nice to know that you love me a lot. lol.

Now, Princess, from what you describe, it is possible that you've developed diabetes. You can't tell whether it's Type 1 or Type 2 without further tests as the symptoms are generally the same ... the main difference being that with Type 1 diabetes the symptoms come on rapidly. In Type 2 diabetes it tends to be a gradual occurrence.

You mention that diabetes runs in your family. Surely they test either their urine or their blood. Ask them to do a simple test for you, although this doesn't necessarily indicate that you do have diabetes. It might indicate that you have a raised blood sugar reading. You'll still need to see your doctor for further testing. (S/he'll do what's called a fasting blood glucose test, meaning s/he'll test it after you've gone without food for several hours.)

The reason your spit turns white can be due to a number of things, one of which is dehydration. You could become dehydrated if you've developed diabetes as you'll naturally be peeing a lot more. This is a natural defence mechanism. Your body is trying to get rid of the excess sugar in your system. You'll notice, of course, that if you're peeing a lot more, you'll be drinking a lot more.

The hunger all the time, again, might indicate diabetes. If you have uncontrolled diabetes wht might be happening is that your body is literally starving because it can't use the foods that your taking in. This is because your cells need insulin to utilise glucose ... a simple sugar that your foods are broken down into.

The headaches come about because of excess sugar. Your brain can't function at it's normal capacity.

My advice would be for you to take a trip to your doctor and explain the symptoms you're experiencing. S/he'll be the best one to take it from there.

Best of luck.

You do need to go see the doctor again. that might be an infection.

the only people who get type 1 diabetes do so because their pancreas suddenly dies and their sugar levels go through the roof and they are diagnosed in the hospital.

Most of the rest of us get type 2 because we are insulin resistant. Meaning that tho the pancreas produces enough insulin or even too much, our bodies can't or won't use it. And yes, it is mostly genetic.

about the white spit, I have never heard that one!!

If you are really worried, go to doctor and ask for complete blood count workup. ask the dr's office for a copy of it and google every item in it. Read and learn!! Educating ourselves about what we might have settles our nerves and empowers us in how to fight these diseases.

Also ask the doctor for a reference to a good dietition. That person will be able to help you with food planning.

A blood/sugar test only takes a minute. It won't hurt to eat less sugar.
