A few drs told me that their veggie patients have more infections and heal slower than carnivores. Do you think it's true or have any first hand stories?

Should be the same for both provided the vegetarian gets enough complete protein.

Complete protein can be obtained by protein complementing incomplete protein foods.

To get complete protein you must get all the essential amino acids and very few vegetarian foods contain all those amino acids.

Some foods such as cereals, pasta, bread, muesli and nuts are lacking in lysine (they contain very little lysine) and need to be combined with foods such as beans and soy products and others that do contain plenty of lysine but perhaps not a lot of one of the other essential amino acids.

I am a vegetarian and have never eaten meat in my life and I am and always have been really healthy. I have never broken a bone, I am rarely ill - my meat eating colleagues and friends often seem to get upset stomachs, mild food poisoning etc and I never do. I am so rarely sick I can't remember the last time. I have never even once had food poisoning. I have never had to go to hospital either. I don't briuse easily at all and if I get a burn or a cut it heals quickly and well. Vegetarians are healthier and I am living proof and so are my vegetarian and vegan family and friends.

A vegetarian that has a balanced diet will actually heal faster than someone who eats meat and drinks milk, because they are more healthy.
A vegetarian that doesn't have a balanced diet, for example they don't get much protein ( and a lot of vegetarians aren't healthy because they don't have a meat replacement) they will heal much slower, because in fact they aren't as healthy.

you need protein to help you heal. If a vegetarian can get enough protein in their diet they can heal as fast as non-vegetarians. It's jsut harder to find vegetables that contain protein. meat obviously contain protein.

My aunt is a vegetarian, and she gets virtually every bug that comes along (and yes, it takes her longer to recover). Not 100% sure it's because she's a vegetarian, but you have to wonder, don't you?

it would make sense since oxygen hitches a ride on iron and gets to wounds faster.
