Kids do NOT need alcohol in ANY quantity. They - I PROMISE - won't know the difference between a REAL "hot toddie" and a mock one.

DO NOT do it....one crazy parent is all you need to end you up in jail for feeding the kids "Jesus juice" if you know what I mean....

No alcohol for kids. Aside from the obvious comment that kids should not have alcohol (others have told you as much, no need to get nasty here) do you know that if you have an undiagnosed diabetic, this could get seriously bad?

Other ideas:
They make 100's of different flavored syrups for Italian sodas and the like. These can be used to flavor anything. Hot cocoa is great, having flavors like mint and cherry to put into it is nice. Also, warm cider with splashes of flavor are good.

Really young kids would probably even enjoy the "smoothie" juices they have these days. Don't go all crazy with a lot of variety in your offerings. Simple is better and less headache in the end.

Just a note for the poster who suggested extract flavors: They are NOT a good solution. What do you think extracts are, anyway? They are flavors infused into alcohol.

If you're making mocktails for kids- no alcohol at all, ZERO. There is huge reason to be concerned - if you're even joking about letting children have any alcohol. What do you mean, "just a splash for flavor"? Most kids wouldn't want to taste liquor or alcohol - it is disgusting to them. What would be the point??? Someone should turn you in.
I have some fantastic recipes, but I'm not sharing with you.

This is such a bad idea! Why would you even want to make pretend drinks? This just glamorizes drinking. Are you going to also give them candy cigarettes and maybe some jelly beans for pretend drugs? Come on, what were you thinking?

No alcohol for the kids! You can make mocktails without. I think you've been hitting the bottle a little today? (pastry, flabor and other misspelled words)

I always thougt a "mocktail" was made without alcohol in the first place.
Although as to the person who reccomended using an extract for flavor should note that extracts can contain up to 85% alcohol by volume.

I would turn you in!!!!! Dont you dare give them kids alcohol. looks like you already had a few too many "splashes" yourself today, you mis-typed almost all you're words!!! Kids are happy with the flavor of Kool-Aid, serve that. The recipe calls for one packet of Kool-Aid, a cup of sugar and 2 qts. water. have a great party.

You can get the flavor from extracts - NOT liquor for kids. Experiment a week or so ahead to get the 'rum' just right for the hot toddies.

if parenting were a job, you'd be fired. There is absolutely no reason to give children alcohol. The kids probably wouldn't even like the taste.
