The one that pops to mind is PETA people throwing red paint on anyone wearing a fur or leather coat.

Watch the PETA episode of "Penn & Teller's B.S." .
They have done a lot of things most vegetarians would not condone, yet everyone else thinks all vegetarians are PETA members. Personally, I believe PETA has more interest in other things than animal welfare. Sort of like Greenpeace. They started out with good intentions, then went bat**** crazy. Even the founder of Greenpeace says he doesn't like what has happened to the organization he started. People join these groups for the right reasons, but then get sucked into the anti goverment and corporation aspects and lose sight of their original goals.
As far as one of the most ridiculous things PETA has done, making comic books for kids that tell them their parents are murderers, and equating factory farming with Nazi death camps.
I think it's sad that people automatically associate me with those b*****ds just because of what I eat.

PETA is silly.
If they ever throw red paint on my coat, I'll sue them.
