Do not get care for diabetes from your GP.
Make an appointment with an endocrinologist and have a full work up.
I wish you the best.

the 115 number is from current finger prick only. Did the doctor do a complete blood count? what was the HgA1c number? that is the one that tells if you are diabetic or not.
Meds is a way to prevent periferal nerve damage from high glucose numbers, or at least keep them from getting worse.
Would you rather wait til you have lost feelings in fingers, toes, or your eyesight to take the meds? I value those parts of me very highly!! I take the meds.
BTW: anything over 101 fasting is not normal!!! At 126 damage is being done to the small blood vessels in your eyes.

One of the reasons that doctors are quick to prescribe medication is that's how they're taught. Now that doesn't include all doctors, but if you have a doctor that believe to take care of anything is to prescribe meds than you might need to find another doctor. Read Kevin Trudeau's book on Natural Cure. Now you take everything he has to say with a grain of salt. But if you would sit back and think about some of things he talks about you can't help to sit back and wonder.

Talk to your doctor about this. It is really too vague for anyone to answer. Is that the current glucose level? Or was that the reading he used to put you on medication? You really need to make an appointment, write down all the questions and talk to him. He doesn't bite, and if he does----sue him!!!!!!! LOL

That's in the normal RANGE, but maybe a little high, and if it's consistently a little high, there may be a problem. This happened to me too...but I control it with diet, no meds.
