this shell is abundant in the beach resort where i live in the Philippines our local name for it is Lampirong. it's meat tastes like chicken and the shells are being used and exported by the shell craft industry. please help me name this so i will have answers for those tourists who come and visit us. thanks!

looks like flame scallop.This is the name for the dark shell ones. The ones with nacar white shells are capiz shell.

SCALLOPS:

It looks more like an oyster but "LAMPIRONG" is a scallop.
