i have come up with a couple ideas myself as well as given you some links that can help you out a little more these recipes are unique as well as delicious.
the ideas i have come up with myself are making some appetizers such as:
a variety of sandwiches and cutting them into some pumpkin, and ghost shapes with cookie cutters.
make some caramel popcorn (or buy it so save some time) and add nuts, yellow orange and red m&m's, and your favorite chocolate and peanut butter morsales ( the ones you use top make the cookies with). maybe you could make make some babyback ribs. also you can season some pumpkin seeds with different seasoning you like and bake them in the oven.
for some ideas for favors:
i like the idea of making huge cookie lollipops (just buy refrigerated cookie dough any flavor you'd like. form the dough into balls and place on a cookie sheet and securley insert flat wooden sticks with rounded ends into the dough bake until golden. wait until they are cool before you remove them from the cookie sheet and decorate. another thing you can do is slice the cookie dough into thicker slices and cut them with pumpkin cookie cutters and then place the wooden sticks and bake and decorate as desired.
p.s make sure to soak the wooden sticks for at least 5 min so they do not burn in the oven.
you can also buy some fall colored cups spary paint pacifiers an the outside with stencils. when they dry you can place some popcorn or candy inside and place the lollipop in it as well for a really nice favor.
for decoration:
you can buy some mini pumpkins and place them around the cake and spray paint some pacifiers or any other baby themed thing on them.
for the cake: you can make a double layer or triple layer spice cake with cream cheese frosting in between the layers of cake as well as the outside. you can also put mini cupcakes to place on top of the cake with fall colored frosting on them. then you can place mini pacifiers on the of the cupcakes. (you can find those at any party shop i would probably stick with putting white pacifiers if possible to stay in the fall colored theme. also you can add cookies shaped like leaves on the cake too.
i have the recipe of pumpkin cream cheese frosting below. you will have to modify the amount depending on how big the cake is.
One 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 cup unsalted butter (1/2 stick), softened
1 tablespoon fresh orange juice
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
4 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted

Directions
Make the frosting: Blend the cream cheese, pumpkin puree, butter, orange juice, zest and vanilla in a large bowl using an electric mixer set at medium speed until smooth. Add the sugar and continue to beat until light and creamy -- about 5 more minutes

Halloween is such a great time for a baby shower! Are you having all the guests come in costume? Here are some ideas for food:

1. Fruit punch with an ice ring. In the ice ring, freeze plastic bats and such. Make the punch out of 1 can frozen margarita mix, 1 can frozen lemonade, 1 can frozen orange juice, 2 litres 7-UP or Gingerale and 4 bottles flavored sparkling water.
2. Olive tampenade on puff pastry with goat cheese. Buy puff pastry sheets and roll into a rectangle. Spread with premade black olive tampenade and sprinkle with crumbled goat cheese. Roll up jelly roll style, cut into 1/4 inch slices and bake until puffed and golden.
3. Lil Smokies in crescent rolls served with hot sweet mustard. Cut unbaked Pillsbury Crescent rolls in half to make equal halves and place a smokie in the center. Roll up and bake until golden and puffed.
4. Mini meatballs in marinara sauce in a sourdough breadbowl.
5. Vegetable platter with ranch dressing
6. Artichoke and Crab dip with blue corn tortilla chips
7. Olive medly
8. Platter of cured meats such as sopresatta, salami, and prosciutto.
9. Cheese platter with Manchenga, Mushroom Brie, Irish Cheddar, Fontina served with crackers and crisp green seedless grapes.
10. Dessert Platter with brownie bites, macaroons, lemon tarts.

Two baby shower food ideas for you:

Fruit and Cheese Tray: Prepare a fruit tray with pretzel rods, low fat crackers, dried fruits, fresh fruits, and use Halloween cookie cutters to cut shapes from low-fat or non-fat cheese slices. Garnish this tray with creepy, crawly plastic spiders, bugs and bats on a falling leaves serving platter.

Jack-o-Lantern Punch: In a large pitcher, mix orange juice and grapefruit juice concentrationes. Then gently stir in the alcohol-free sparkling white wine. Add ice cubes to chill. Serve at once.

You can make Chocolate Spiders. All you need is some chocolate. Melt it in the Microwave. spoon in into a ziploc bag. squeeze into the corner. snip a small bit off the corner tip. Draw a large (Nickle size)dot for the body. add the legs. Make sure you do this on waxed paper and on a baking sheet. Put them in the freezer to harden. when ready to serve. take them out and .....Voila! you can find some more great things at Kraftfoods.com.

You say it's "after lunch" so keep the menu light (but I'm betting most guests will not have eaten before attending).... You can make mini sandwiches using small dinner rolls--fill with egg salad, tuna, ham & cheese, roast beef>>place a party pick through the egg salad with a sliced olive on top. For something warm>>>serve cocktail weiners in a sauce of 1 small jar of French's mustard combined with 1 jar of mint jelly (keep in a fondue pot and serve with toothpicks nearby)--easy to heat together and tastes great! Something "fruity"...either an Ambrosia salad or fruit bowl (can provide separate cups for them to scoop fruit into) and yes, a pasta salad is always popular as are deviled eggs crackers and cheese/olive tray (Triscuits? or any of the great flavor combos they have out now of crackers) Can make cupcake baby rattles>>just bake, decorate all different and festive, and insert white candy stick into side of cupcake near top of where paper meets cake--tie a ribbon there--can also add a large gumdrop at bottom end of stick......arrange on a platter or wrap individually as take-home gifts for guests.

Make some fruit kabobs, mini croissants with chicken salad and ham salad, and pumpkin bars. Hey I was just to a fun baby shower on Sunday. They took the disposable preemie diapers and popped an unwrapped candy bar in the diaper. Then microwaved it for a little bit. Looked just like a dirty diaper and you had to look at it, smell it, and guess which candy bar. There were 10 different diapers. Fun and different.

If you know the baby's name, then you could serve cupcakes or petit fours with the baby's monogram, done in pink and white or blue and white.

For Halloween, I always make cheeseburgers, but I put all the burger patties on a tray, and I cut jack-o-lantern faces out of the cheese. That's very cute and easy to do.

Pudding in gerber jars. Alternatively, fill the jars with hot fudge and have a plate of strawberries to dip. Bonus points for labels with potential names or curious baby quotations.
