my next door neighbor and i are friends. we talk almost every day.in June my daughter was outside leaving for her prom and i was so happy i look over at my friend and she was very upset so i said whats wrong she said i'll talk with you when your done. so when my daughter left i knocked and said whats wrong? she said your f**ken husband. he said to me is it me or did i just see your husband walk out with a spiderman lunch box. she said no it was superman. she was actually so pissed that he said that to her. and she was just going on and on then said well we think its funny that your husband likes the show airwolf from the 1980's. i guess she thought that was cutting my husband up or something. i just thought if she was my friend she wouldn't have tried to hurt me. i didn't do anything to her.plus the fact it was my happy time seeing my daughter off to the prom and all she was worried about was my husband asking if it was a spiderman lunch box! i feel its stupid. my husband was joking although i thought it was funny that a grown man would walk outside with that lunch box!!!

Oh the joys of being neighbors! Listen, your husband probably was joking and she and her husband don't have a sense of humor. Who the heck cares if he's carrying a Superman lunch box? Maybe he collects Superman memorabilia or just old lunchboxes. And who cares if you and your husband watch Air Wolf. Personally I like the show, and Jan Michael Vincent was nice eye candy too. I don't know what to tell you to solve the feud, except that maybe your husband can take a walk over to their house dressed up in a Superman outfit and bring her husband a pilot's helmet as a gift. You can follow him over with a nice big chocolate cake. Good Luck.

ps. You could always tell the rest of the neighbors that he just bought his Halloween costume and wanted to show it off.

Punctuation is a wonderful thing. That aside, look at it this way: If your neighbor was that distraught over what was said, then she didn't have a whole lot of say in the choice of lunchbox. And that could play several ways, from financial trouble to disagreement over the cool factor. Given the response you've stated, I'd tend to say the latter.

And yes, Superman gets +1 cool point. If it's an old lunchbox from the 80s or earlier, that gets +2 retro points as well.

I am sure that it was something else that she was feeling and took it out on you. Unfortunately that sometimes happens, I know it's not fair. My best friend and I have done this many times. She was being ridiculous, but that sometimes happens when something else is going on. I would just chalk it up to that. If her friendship is that important to you I would definitely just open up the lines of communications again. You don't need to apologize, but just open the lines. Once you get speaking again you will probably hear that something else was going on in her life at the time that was trying. If the friendship is not that important, don't think anymore about it. It's not that big a deal. She acted like a fool and you get to talk about her to the rest of your neighbors ; 0

That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! Why would she care if he was carrying a Spiderman, Superman or a freaking Barbie lunch box?

Maybe she was jealous because your daughter was going on her prom. She may not have went on her prom. I would ask her about it one day in a nonchalant way. Like one day when you get your daughter's prom pictures back and you show them to her say, "Wow brings back memories!! Did you enjoy your prom?" You will be able to tell by her reaction and her answer whether or not she went on her prom. E-mail me and let me know what happens. You don't even have to wait to get the pictures back to make the comment though.

Are you complaining about your Goofy friend or asking a question?
People's true character come out at the most inappropriate times and for the most banal of reasons. If she apologizes - accept but keep a mental note of the incident for future reference.

So what's your question? You had a disagreement with your neighbor back in June. Are you talking with her now? I think you both need to get over it (whatever "it" is). It's much better to have a friendly neighbor, even if you're not close friends again.

My fiance just started teaching High school and she carries an old school metal lunchbox to school. I think its awesome. I told her to look on ebay for a night rider, a-team or star wars one for me to take to work.
