Okay so I found out that all the toothpaste in my house is tested on animals which I find horrible. Does anyone know of any brand of toothpaste that isn't tested on animals? And could you be so kind to list a price, store or place I can get it in Canada? Thanks in advance.

I use Nature's Gate toothpaste with fluoride -- peppermint flavor (it also comes in raspberry mint). I buy it at our local organic market, but it's pretty easy to find online, too.

I found a site that lists all kinds of products that are tested on animals (it's so sad :( ). Anyhow, they list alternative 'cruelty free' products that are not tested on animals. The prices seem to be about the same as the price for what you would normally pay for toothpaste. Going to a nature foods store could possibly turn up these products. Good luck in your quest for cruelty free products!!

(site is listed below that shows the different products)

Try any retailer that specializes in organic food, ie whole foods market, wild oats, sunflower market etc. I cant remember if there are any of those stores in canada but im sure you can look them up and find out. They will carry exactly what you are looking for. If there are any natural grocers that would be a good place to look. I used to work for whole foods and I know we had toothpaste and other products that were humane but i didnt work in the department that sold them so i never really took notice of the name of the brand.

Tom's of Maine is my personal favorite. Love the Cinnamint and the Spearmint flavors. Contains propolis and myrrh. My teeth have never felt better and after reading the company profile, you'll appreciate that they are not only a humane company but an environmentally and socially conscious one as well.

J/A/S/O/N and Nature's Gate both make good toothpastes. Nature's Gate makes a cherry-flavored gel that's a little sweet for me, but I would recommend it to anyone with kids.

You should be able to find both brands at a natural food store.

Jason has several flavors & formulas.
There are other cruelty-free brands but I mostly use Jason's so can't think of others @ the moment.
If you live near a natural food store or large supermarket, you should find something you'll like.

I love Tom's of Maine. Its vegan, not tested on animals, and is environmentally conscious. They also give their workers a $4000 bonus for getting a hybrid car and require them to serve community service.
