At the age of 16, with a normal EKG it is very unlikely that you have a cardiac condition to account for your symptoms. I think you have hit the nail on the head in wondering if it is stess.

EKG only reads 10 seconds. If you weren't symptomatic at that time, it didn't register things such as heart racing. If you are having rapid heart rate your doctor should put a 24 hour holter monitor on you. This will record your heart rate and rhythm for a whole day and give a lot more information than an EKG. If I were you I would cut caffiene out of your daily intake and I bet that will help with the racing.

I would go back to doctor and ask to get a referal to see a specialist. Stress can cause panic attacks which feel like a heart attack. So getting some of the stress out of your system is what may help if thats the problem. Yoga, ( basicly relaxing for 20 minutes every part of your body from your toes to your nose.) There are many ways to reduce stress from excersize to relaxing away from everyone.
The other thing is Acid reflex. My book says: symptoms: Main symptom is usually a painful burning sensation in your chest. You may mistake if for the pain of a heart attack. If you bend forward or lie down, stomach acid can more easily flow into the esophagus, so heartburn is often particularly troublesome at night. Another possible symptom is sudden regurgitation of acid fluid into your throat, belching is often common and nauzia.
Self help: loose wieght. Avoid stooping, particularly after a meal. Do not wear tight belts or to tight of clothing. Raise the head of your bed about four inches by standing the front legs on books or bricks, to reduce acid reflex at night. Avoid alcoholic drinks, it only aggravates symptoms. No smoking since smoking encourages the production of stomach acid. Try taking one of the antacids that is available without prescription. Be sure to follow the directions on the label. If they do not work then your doctor can prescribe one. If that does not help and a specialist confirms you have acid reflux or hiatus hernia then they may recommend repairing it surgically. Which is simple and results are very good. * Well thats what the book says.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Your symptoms of nausea, and burning sensations point more toward a Gastrointestinal issue than Cardiac. Have you experienced hearburn before? When do you notice these symptoms usually? Do symptoms get worse after a meal? Or do they happen when you are stressed?
Many things can increase the amount of acid being pumped into your stomach. Overproductivity can be hereditary. Or it can be as a result of certain foods, maybe even stress. If you experience these symptoms regularly and they affect your daily activities, you can try over the counter medications. But before you do anything, be sure to discuss it with your doctor.

That sounds like acid reflex. It can be mistaken by hearth problems. The burn is on the center of your abdomen and it expands to the sides and people think it the hearth.
It also sounds like panic attack. Check your primary care and ask for this two options.
Good Luck!

The burning is probably GERD aka reflux. You heart sounds fine. Keep some maalox, mylanta, tums or zantac etc in the house to use when you have that burning feeling.

This is what my doctor said.
EKG ONLY shows abnormalities if it is happening at the moment the measurements were taken. If you think something is wrong, talk to your parents and see if you can schedule an appointment with a cardiologist.
