peaceful creatures (and protein-deficient in some cases).

No problem here. This December I will have been a strict vegetarian for twelve years. I am not sickly and my coloring is fine. To give you an idea, I am barely 5'3 and I am 150 lbs. I get my blood tested for sugar levels, cholesterol, and B vitamins every year and every year I receive a clean bill of health from my doctor. Here's some food for thought....Most of India's population is vegetarian and a good number of them have been that way since birth. There are also Buddhists around the world that have lived on a strict vegetarian diet most of their lives and they are some of the healthiest people you will ever meet.
Here's my last point: I am open to answer questions about my lifestyle but I do not impose my beliefs on anyone even though I think the way America eats (overall) is absolutely disgusting . But I respect that people will live and learn in their own time, it is not up to me to decide for anyone else but myself.

I think that they taste good! Pretty much everything if not everything in nature that is a vegetarian is food for something. I know that if I was in a plane crash in the Andes and we ran out of food, I would eat the vegetarians first. Just to keep with what nature set out for us.

vegetarians are great especially served with a light cream sauce. Only kidding, couldnt help myself. I am personally not a vegetarian but I have no problem with my friends that are. They all know that I respect their decision and they in turn respect mine and don't try to convert me. I believe every person should be free to make their own choices and if it works for them go for it. I go out with them to eat sometimes. Sometimes we go to regular restaurants. They order what they want and i order what I like. Sometimes we go to vegetarians joints and I can still find plenty of stuff there to enjoy. Just haven't aquired a taste for hummus though.

I think they are just fine. I am a quasi-vegetarian myself. That is, I do eat chicken and fish, but rarely eat beef, except for the occasional filet mignon. Most beef, in my opinion, is tough, full of fat and gristle, and doesn't taste all that good unless it's well seasoned. I could be very happy without it. I like filet mignon because it is super tender. Most of my diet consists of veggies, fruit, whole grains, dairy products, eggs, cheese (love cheese), and pasta. I like chicken and some fish, like tuna, salmon and sardines. Also white fish, like cod and halibut. There are a lot of delicious vegetarian recipes. Most vegetarians do not have a weight problem, but may be lacking somewhat in proteins. They should eat beans and rice to make up for the protein in meat.

I think you are trying to maintain a lifestyle based on your beliefs, however you are also depriving your body of some very necessary nutrients. Your brain needs fat and so does your organs. You need protein for energy. Most vegetarians I've met have poor skin coloring and seem to be sickly all of the time.

Vegetarians are people who simply don't eat meat.
Should I have a different opinion on someone because they don't eat candy? Should I have a different opinion on someone because they don't eat fruit? The person is what makes judgement, not what they eat.

I think if you can do it right, it is probably a very nice way to live....but the smell of bacon or a roast beef cooking!!! I can't give that up. I don't eat a lot of meat, and I really love fresh fruits and veggies but I also like meat. Life is just to short for me to be a vegetarian as long as I don't have to for health reasons..I would do it, if the Doctor told me too, though....
