No. It really is not safe to eat any animal that dies of natural causes, because many of those deceases can be passed on to humans. Also, vegetarianism is about a lot more than just what goes in to meat. There are physical, spiritual, mental, and ethical considerations as well.

Would you, an omnivore, eat a chicken that died of natural causes? Heck no, because s/he probably died of disease, right? And it would no doubt make you very, very sick if you ate it, right? So why would a vegetarian eat that dead chicken?

no.
but that really wouldnt happen.
the chicken would either die from something like cancer so it would have a huge tumor in it or from old age which means the meat isnt as good as young chickens.

the reason i am vegetarian is
1) the thought of consuming flesh disgusts me
2) anything that dies for human pleasure is disgusting
3) our diets dont depend on animals like they used to, there are so many healthy safer alternatives

i wouldn't.

see, some vegetarians don't eat meat because they believe that the way the animals are raised and killed is wrong and they don't want to support it.
that's how i started off.
now i just believe that animals should not be used for man's advantage. they were put on this earth the same as us but over time man learned to manipulate and use them. i just think that it's wrong.
but that's just my opinion.

No, that's kind of the point of being a vegetarian.

But for ***** and giggles, what kind of "natural" death? Old age/disease, or eaten by a lion? Both are pretty "natural" deaths.

btw: the answer would still be no.

NO I do not eat animal flesh because IT is not good for you. The side benefit that I do not contribute to the ugliness that is the Meat, Dairy & Egg industry is just secondary.

Nope. The whole idea of eating a dead animal's flesh is disgusting to me, regardless of how it died. Plus you'd probably get really sick..

No..

If its just a dead chicken next to the bush somewhere, it probably died of some kind of disease. I'm not going to invite myself to an illness.
