I think there are two kinds of mmol readings. One with empty stomach (it is measured after you don't eat anything for at least 12 hours, except drinking water is allowed), the acceptable level is from 4-6 mmol. After meal reading is ranching from 4-9 mmol. The warning sign is exceeded 9 mmol for after meal measure.

Multiply your number by 18 and that will give you your blood sugar in mg/dl

4 - 8 is normal in mmol - as sassy said earlier, a quick call to your meter company should fix it up :)
Multiply mmol by 18 to get mg/dl, and divide mg/dl by 18 to get mmol.

call the 1800 on the back of your meter and they can tell you how to change it back. That way you dont have to bother with conversions. They will walk you through it step by step and its a free call.
