After the doctor has prescribed you LIPID PROFILE, than you can go any lab and have your HDL, LDL, Serum cholestrol and triglycerides, checked out, by Pathologist.
The lab will give you a fasting time about 10 to15 hours(varies from lab to lab) as the blood test is done on empty stomach.
Take the report back to your consultant for evaluation, better avoid self evaluation,OK.

welll...when doc orders a lipid panel,the good,bad and ugly
cholesterols are measured in blood at the lab...the doc gets a report..

By getting a blood test that needs to be ordered by your doctor so you can get it done in a lab.
