I have been eating lots of healthy fruits and vegetables, but for some reason I have been very tired lately. I don't eat any meat or anything else that is unnatural, so I know that is not it. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you may not be eating enough calories or that you may not be getting enough iron.

I would suggest trying to eat more mixed leafy greens. Beans are another great source of iron.

If your already eating these you may just not be consuming enough calories. You could try to eat more at dinner and perhaps make sure to round off a meal with toast or muesli.

fruit is a good way to keep up your energy during the day, same with good fats, like in avocados and nuts.

I doubt that its protein, if that was the case you would almost certainly have malnutrition as well.

Regardless, needing to combine proteins in a single meal to get all the essential amino acids is a myth, it was a concept put forth in a popular book that was later recanted.

they are stored in the liver and in a pool in the stomach, so combining over a longer period like over days is more important than a single meal for most cases.

though a well rounded meal is satisfying anyway : )

B-12 deficiency is over stated. Could be lots of reasons. Stress, Not enough Rest, have you had your Thyroid Checked? Food or Environmental Allergies, Are you drinking enough water? etc. Diet is just 1 factor of our health. Being a Veggie or Vegan does not make us immune to other health problems.
Keep a Food Diary for a few weeks, you may find you are not eating as well as you think.

I hope this gives you some direction on find out what is wrong.

You are tired, so the simple answer would be to get more sleep. I notice that this question was posted 5 hours ago putting that in the early hours of the morning, (assuming you're in the UK). Try going to sleep instead of messing about on here.
If that doesnt work you may be short of Iron. Take some multi-vitamins with Iron to give yourself a boost.

You claim the you don't eat anything unnatural. So are you telling me that everything you eat is organic?? That's the only way you could be eating nothing else but natural foods. How much do you weigh? You supposed to drink a half ounce of water for every lb of body weight. So find out how much water you should drink a day and drink it. Do you take your vitamins everyday? Are you getting your protein? You don't have to eat meat to get your protein. I too am a vegetarian. You can get your protein from nuts and seeds. If you do all these things that I listed above, then I don't no why you could be tired lately. Wait!!! There's one more explaination. Have you been stressed out lately? If you have, that's probaly why you've been tired. Hope I've help!! Bye!

Are you getting enough iron? Or protein?
I never have trouble getting protein, because I eat a lot of quorn, but you should be having cereal and pulses for your iron, which you can only absorb if you have a good vitamin C intake.

Larry B, many things contain protein.

Not enough protein and not enough b vitamins. You need to mix up what you eat, eat a variety of fruits and vegetables and some legumes too.

You ate a lot of fruits but have you had a eight-hour sleep one day? you should do exercises every morning and you should play sport, such as swimming, jogging, or anything you love to play. Finally, don't think so much about your work when you free, just relax ! Every thing will be OK ?

Prevention: consume 46 grams protein daily

I'm vegan, I have dealt with these problems w/ fatigue. I found out a well-balanced diet, even (especially) vegan makes me feel so much better.

check out the vegan food pyramid: http://www.veganfoodpyramid.com/

Sounds like an easy-to-mend deficiency. Follow a good eating pattern and get lots of nutritious foods, and you will likely not have any problems from your diet.

If your diet is good, is there a chance that you are under a lot of stress, do you have a deadline for something, are you worried about anything... these things can also make you feel tired, too.

Also, taking caffeine in coffee or teas (even "natural" ones have caffeine) can make you feel tired after a while (you will need more to stay as alert, and will feel tired if you don't take more). Weaning off gradually helps this alot. Cold-turkey is probably better but is more "stressful"

Too much sugar, an imbalance of anything in your diet really can make you feel sluggish and tired...

Try to balance out your diet and see if that helps any... Meanwhile, see if you've got stress going on that you can resolve somehow.

Well there is a surprise a veggie who is too tired!! lol You are what you eat!! So you feel like a soggy cabbage maybe because that is your diet. You unfortunatley need to eat meat that is a biological fact that is what you are designed to do. Would you not put petrol or oil in a car and expect it to still keep going NO you would not. Don't fight it you need meat please please please stop believing this absolute tosh about being ethical by not eating meat. Not eating meat is unethical by not eating meat you will reduce the number of farmed animals by reducing the number of farmed animals you will deny many future generations of animals the right to life. This is the equivalent of the Nazi genocide of the Jews.
THAT IS THE REAL "ETHICAL" OUTCOME OF YOUR COLLECTIVE LUNACY.

Most likely cause would I think be Iron deficiency in the blood. Not being a vegetarian myself I think that you should eat more greens like cabbage for instance, and Eggs unless that is a no,no. See http://www.calorie-count.com/calories/item/11109.html
