Did you get the list from PETA? I would question the veracity of PETA's endorsement. They say Lemonheads are vegan, but when I checked the ingredients one day, I discovered they have beeswax. I was NOT happy. The only way to ensure the candy you're eating is vegan is to buy it from a company that vets the food for you (such as Vegan Essentials or Pangea). If you can't do that, read the labels scrupulously and if you have any question, don't buy it.

Glycerin(e)--it's spelled with an E in England and Canada--can be vegetable or animal. If it's vegetable glycerin, it will usually say so on the label. For the record, lecithin can be made from soy or egg whites; if it's soy, it will usually say so.

Glycerine comes from many sources, including animal. Unless it is specified as vegetable glycerine (usually from soybeans) then it would be questionable. You can call the company, but they are typically clueless about what and where their ingredients come from. Just so you know, there are other ingredients that are NOT vegan-so you are getting misinformation from somewhere. Here are the ingredients:

Ingredients: SUGAR, DEXTROSE, CORN SYRUP (GLUCOSE), GUM BASE, CITRIC ACID, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, CORN STARCH, ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS, ARTIFICIAL COLORS (FD&C RED 40, BLUE 1, YELLOW 5).

Allergy Information: MAY CONTAIN MILK AND SOY

The GUM BASE likely contains animal sources-its usually a compound made of different things, including tallow, which is from cows. Artificial colors almost always contain animal sources, and the red food dye would contain carmine, which is made from crushed chochineal beatles-none of these would be considered vegan. Unfortunately, MANY products are mislabeled as being vegan and/or vegetarian, when they are not. As a side note, I wouldnt eat them even if they were vegan-they are full of unhealthy things. I suggest checking with your local health food store for a better option. Also keep in mind that the corn syrup and "modified" corn syrup in most sweets is made from genetically modified foods-a scary thing, as far as I am concerned-goole GMO corn for more details. I dont think its a good idea to mess with mother nature by modifying foods from their natural source

They both are Perfect for your health. If you eat both, you're better off. But yea, I'd personally choose fruits because they taste better.

It is determined by the fruit or plant linked to a comparison. In the event you compare a n to a carrot, the carrot is the better of the two nutritional. When you compare an avocado to the carrot, then an avocado is better. The two the apple and avocado, are fruits.

the questionable is the artificial flavores and glycerine. red 40 is synthetic and not cochineal.
