I eat many non-meat products, but ONCE in a while, i do eat a little meat.

NOW, dont be all "your not a vegetarian! stop! saying! that!"

because this poor girl got a "question" made up about her and she said sorry. and everybody just gave her low thumbs, or something. it was REALLY stupid.

becasue i KNOW that there are a type of vegetarians who only eat a little meat, only in a blue moon.

so, for all you people who arent going to say that im NOT a vegetarian, what sort of vegetarian am i..?

tlike, what do you call it..?

i eat as much non-meat stuff as i can, but only ONCE in a while i have meat.

just curious. ;)

thanks..!

Pescetarianism — A diet in which the only animals consumed are fish or other seafood.
Pollotarianism — A diet in which the only animals consumed are fowl.
Flexitarianism — A diet that consists primarily of vegetarian food, but that allows occasional exceptions.
Freeganism — argues all commodities produced under capitalism, not only those from animal sources, contribute to exploitation and avoid buying anything, including food. Freegans thus focus on acquiring foods and other commodities by means other than purchasing, including foraging for wild plants and gardening with intent to cause as little violence and ecological destruction as possible through their consumption. While many freegans are vegans or vegetarians, others will eat animal products that would otherwise go to waste under the justification that doing this does not encourage further animal exploitation.

i would call you a flexitarian. but don't hesitate to call yourself a vegetarian if the question comes up. you know what i mean the whole "are you a vegetarian?" schpiel. it is so much easier to say "yes" or "no" instead of an in depth description of your dietary habits. the people who get all upset when some one who is a loose vegetarian calls themself a vegetarian don't take into consideration that different people don't eat meat for different reasons. i don't eat meat because i don't like the way animals are farmed and killed. however, i have gone fishing many times and i kill the animal quickly and humanely and i don't feel bad about it at all. it is so much easier to call myself a vegetarian instead of explaining myself completely.

Ok, this statement got me:

"for eggs, i only eat the yolk. not the white part, which is the chicken."

For one, the white part is not where the chicken would have been. Secondly, eggs from the store aren't fertilized so there is not chicken there anyway. Finally, if you thought it was fertilized, how does throwing away the "chicken" part do any good? That's like picking the chicken out of a salad and throwing it away. It might make it technically vegetarian, but if you're going to waste the meat you might as well have eaten it.

And, to answer your question, there is no kind of vegetarian that eats any meat, at all, period. Some vegetarians might slip up and eat something on accident, but they don't willingly add the meat into their diets, even if it's only once a year. If you eat meat, then you're not a vegetarian.

There are 3 a thank you to discern this one. the 1st is the generic that's vegan (genuine vegetarians), ovo, lacto, pesci, etc. the 2nd is by motivation, that's why did they modify into vegetarians. One is wellness motives - they think vegetarian diets are extra healthy. Others grew to become vegetarians using fact of animal cruelty themes. and then there is the religious class and then the own class that's "I grew to become a vegetarian using fact the female or guy i admire is a vegetarian" or another humorous reason. The third thank you to choose what varieties is purely to declare there are 3 varieties - genuine vegetarians that consume in user-friendly terms culmination, vegetables, nuts and seeds, semi-vegetarians that consume some fish, egg, dairy, or meat now and then, and then there are the fake vegetarians - those that declare to be vegetarians and proceed to consume junk nutrients.

Actually, it's the yolk that would, in a fertilized egg, become a chicken, not the white.

And you are NOT a vegetarian. Very close, but no cigar. Almost only counts in horseshes, hand grenades, and brain surgery. If you only eat meat "once in a while," as you claim, why not just stop eating altogether? After you stop eating meat, THEN you can call yourself a vegetarian. But as long as you have the once in a while (and please define what you mean by that once in a while) piece of meat, you cannot call yourself vegetarian.

you're not a vegetarian. you're an omnivore.
why is so hard for you to understand that you're not a vegetarian? I mean, come on! I've seen you post and whine about the same thing so many times in this section.

you eat meat! doesn't matter if it's once in a while or everyday, you still eat it! plain and simple. time to move on. no need to label yourself. unless you desperately need a label then stop eating meat and then you can actually be a vegetarian.

Just because you don't want to hear that you are not a vegetarian, does not mean you are one. There is no vegetarian that eats meat.

"becasue i KNOW that there are a type of vegetarians who only eat a little meat, only in a blue moon."
-there are plenty of people that call themselves vegetarian(who eat meat once and awhile), but they are not vegetarian. People even make up silly names to call themselves, look up any of these labels in the dictionary and you wont find them(because they are not real)

You can call yourself anything you like. but it doesn't make it so. Like I told someone else, I can call myself a teapot, I can even tell other people I am a teapot. Some people may say "ok" and agree, but after I walk away they all know I'm not a teapot, despite how much I want it to be so, or how many times I tell them.

Okay honey, if you eat meat you are NOT A VEGETARIAN. (Shocker right?!) No offense but people who call themselves “flexatarians” are just wanna be vegetarians. They basically can’t commit to not eating meat so they find some name that suits them. Face it, you’re an OMNIVORE.

Just so you know, this is the definition of a vegetarian according to dictionary.com;

A vegetarian- “a person who does not eat or does not believe in eating meat, fish, fowl, or, in some cases, any food derived from animals, as eggs or cheese, but subsists on vegetables, fruits, nuts, grain, etc.”

a closet carnivore.

lul.

if you were vegan and ate some dairy if it was free...you'd be a freegan...
that's the only cutesy title i know of.

but yeah, i really have to agree with the comment above.
i used to be a vegetarian. didnt' eat anything that 'had two eyes and a mother'.
even though i eat meat now, i still eat TONS of completely vegetarian food. the only time i do actually eat meat is at restaurants or other people's houses. but i dont' consider myself vegetarian at all.

i'm not punk, but i'm with all the REAL punks on hating this emo junk that people call punk. just because i believe in respecting what people stand for, and what they're willing to sacrifice for.

You eat healthy. You are not a vegetarian....yet. Stop eating the meat everyonce in a while and then you can call your self a lacto ovo vegetarian. Until then you are just a healthy eater.

If you only eat meat everyonce in a while why not stop all together? Do you really need/want it? Just a thought.

why do you desperately want to be labeled into a certain category? you asked a similar question not too long ago ranting about how people tell you you're not a vegetarian. well, hate to break it to you but you're not any kind of vegetarian.

websites that don't know any better will post ludicrous terms such as "flexitarian" or "semi-vegetarian". those simply do not exist. if you hardly eat meat, then you are a meat reducer.
