When a woman goes in for a pap test they are not routinely tested for STD's. Many women think that is what the pap is for, but it is not. It only checks for cervical changes which "may" determine if you have HPV. If she specifically asked for an HIV test, then she may have gotten one. Otherwise the doctor does not check.
Only about 1% of the population has HIV in the US. It is always a good idea to use protection, but the chance of contracting HIV is far more rare than the other diseases or infections you could contract.
Since most conditions do not have symptoms, it is a very good idea for you to get checked by your doctor before you have sex with anyone else. Request a full battery of tests including type specific HSV (they generally will not do it unless you ask for it, and a culture is not accurate without lesions) Then repeat the tests in 3-4 months.
We all make mistakes. Hopefully this one will only be a lesson on what not to do in the future :)

Hi, I'm not going to say you are an idiot or anything like that because you don't need that, I can tell you are regretting it, besides, everyone makes mistakes.
I wouldn't worry yourself silly over it, taking all factors into consideration I think you will probably be okay.
If she had a test, then she must care about her health.
Also, to catch HIV from just one encounter is very unlucky, not impossible - but unlucky.
In addition, it is more difficult for a man to contract HIV from a woman than vice versa.
That being said, I feel it would be a good idea for you to get tested in 3 months - just to be safe.
While you are there you should get tested for everything, this will put your mind at rest.
Good luck.

Low if she told you the truth and she really had a negative test. Get a blood test for HIV in three months of the risk exposure and get an appointment on Monday, so a doctor will ask a smear and other tests (Hepatitis B and C, chlamydia, haemophilus ducreyi).

Transmission of HIV from female to male is possible, however HIV is hard to get in general. Too many factors come into play to list here. Get tested to alleviate your worry, but most likely you are OK (as far as HIV goes). One wonders why she had an HIV test at all, most people wouldn't think of it unless they engage in risky behavior or were the victim of a sexual assault. I suggest that you also get tested for syphilis. Wait about 60 days before you get these tests. Any other STD will probably have symptoms so you will know to get treated. You are probably fine though.

Depending on who she slept with in the 8 months since she supposedly tested clean....well you get the idea, your chances I would say are 50/50. Get tested right away, for a baseline, and then again in six months. And try not to drink around women anymore if you can't keep it in your pants when you drink.

Call the health department. They will let you know when is the time to get tested to get accurate results. If there is something else you can do, they will tell you this also. If they don't bring it up themselves, you bring it up.

You know the women, right. So its your call. If you think she has many sexual partners, she does drugs may be you are at risk. But best way is to ask her, if you are really feeling that sorry.
