I answered a question from an asker ( who I will not mention)
the question was put in a way that I, yes, I, found offensive to Christians, it mocked the religion in an ignorant way, while trying to come across as interested in the answer. This falls in with one of my earlier questions on how easy it is for trolls to report you, without justification! the fact that YA must have seen the question and still decided to give me a violation is not fair! my answer was no worse than others!

I like to debate and query with the Christians, but I am not Ignorant to thier faith, I beleive that if you have no knowledge of a subject, then you have no business making comment! for how can you deny something of which you are ingnorant!

Hi Silver Tongue.
I had the exact same problem. I have had four
accounts in the last month.
You actually knew me before under the name Roman B I think.
You were my fan until I got booted off for stating my opinion.
It is true it is not fair at all.
That is the purpose of this site after all. (Answering questions)
That is also the problem you state truths you get a violation for it. You tell crap and you seem to slide through.
It is a strange set up.
Have a great day.

I'm a Christian and always getting violation notices. Usually when I disagree with a certain person lol. And then suddenly I start getting loads of notices. I don't worry about them. Once I have to go then I shall go. And I shall sulk for ages I should think.
The only times I have used the reporting system is when I think vulnerable people are in danger from disgusting descriptive language or inappropriate pictures. Children
frequent these questions. That's when I worry. Other than that I think it's a most odd practise.
Moooooooooooo at my thumbs down>>>>trots off

Yes happened to me too.Got a violation because I posed a challenge to atheists and for some reason it was removed when I see plenty of other questions like the one I had asked. And the question was in all respectful to others religions I was just looking for understanding and meaning to the atheists train of thought. They must have thought it offensive when I was not derogatory in any way. I guess evidence proves faulty and uncalled for when it puts another'sbeliefs in doubt. Anyways some times YA Staff are not fair when they really need to be looking at the one's who ask derogatory questions and ignorant questions opposed to the one's who give opinionated and thoughtful questions and answers.

Diversity should allow everyone to have an opinion but how that opinion is expressed should be tempered with an endeavour to not offend.
At least Diversity should allow for the fact that not to offend is to know every thing about every culture, ethnic, religion etc.
Naturally that is not possible, so Freedom of speech must be qualified with some mitigating statement of intent,e.g." I mean no offence to any Race or Creed, Majority or Minority." . Feel Free to give your opinion with this qualification, I am sure there is a Political correct version for the exact wording , But Human Rights, Freedom of Speech, must be supported by Diversity or it is not Diversity.

Unfortunately the right to free speech does not apply in Yahoo answers. Which in itself is highly ludicrous seeing that we are all just giving our own opinions. Is that not what Yahoo is doing when they find an answer to be in violation? They are giving their opinion as to whether or not the answer is deemed inappropriate. They are taking one persons opinion and basing another person opinion on it. There is no way that any answer is going to be appropriate for everyone on here. Someone will always take offense by what someone else is saying. But just because someone takes offense in no way should it mean that the person who said it should not be allowed to say it. “The First Amendment was designed to protect offensive speech, because nobody ever tries to ban the other kind

The way the Politically-Correct world works is if you say anything to defend the majority then you are a trouble maker. This is wrong and gets very frustrating.
Additionally, people will travel across the internet using sites like these, looking for an opportunity to make a complaint against someone expressing their opinion. The troll probably had no feelings about what you said, they just like complaining.
Stick to your guns.

Silvertongue: I don't know what question/answer you were referring to. But if you believe it was unfair you can appeal it and humans will examine it. If it's not a violation your points will be restored.
Nothing unfair about that.
I had my account suspended until they examined the violations on appeal and reinstated my account.
But all of us are going to have to be respectful in what we say toward any system of faith or questioner under the new system.
When I see anyone using sarcasm, ridicule, sneering at any religious or spiritual faith, I report it. When I see name-calling I report it, regardless what faith indulges in it.
I'll continue to do so.

I suppose Christians are just as much entitled to get uppity about their faith as members of other religions. Only problem is that getting uppity is not something that true Christians are taught to be. I'm not normally in favour of fundamentalism, but I do think that many Christians have strayed from the path which Jesus advocated. And, yes, other religions have also strayed from the path of their founders too.

Is there a question or is this venting? How do you know when you get a violation? I'm actually pretty forward and very critical, might I have got a violation without knowing?

I had this happen to me as well, It seems that you just cant question any form of religion these days without penalty especially on Y- answers as anyone can have your answer removed if they disagree.
