...so why do you still claim tax exempt status for your (non!) religious institutions?

For people who asked where I 'got the idea' that Christianity is not a religion. Well, from Christians:

Not all Christians say that Christianity isn't a religion. It's my opinion that Christianity is MORE than a religion: It's a lifestyle, and a relationship with God. No other religion can claim that it gives a person a relationship with an EXTERNAL God. Some of the pantheistic religions tell a person to find God within themselves, and within nature. That is the only God to them.

Anyway, the question is not about the difference between Christianity and other religions. The question is, why is Christianity tax-exempt if it "isn't a religion"? That's simple. ANY organization that donates money to charity (and is non-profit) is tax exempt. Period.

So whether Christianity is a "religion" or not, it should remain tax exempt.

I don't say it's not a religion, I know it's a religion. Were on earth did you get that idea from?

Umm...yeah. Those links you gave, they obviously don't know what they're talking about. I'm Christian myself, and I have the good sense to know that Christianity IS a religion.

It's a "relationship" with someone they can't see, hear, or touch. I think people who refer to Christianity as a relationship and therefore not a religion are officially delusional.

Hey if you get a break... take it...

Don't talk like you wouldn't... If the GOVT. said, "Hey... You don't have to pay taxes..." wouldn't you be all over it... especially if you already a part of that organization.
