Without it, the world would made a great deal more progress in terms of morality and technology. Organised religion has consistently been the enemy of moral progress and advancing knowledge.

Organised religion has corrupted the world for thousands of years:
The churches (including the CofE, the Catholics, etc) have stolen off the poorest members to fund its corrupt cults; Scientific progress has been halted by these organisations who have no knowledge of scientific reason; they have spread intolerance, bigotry and hate towards those who don't fit into their stereotypes (e.g. homosexuals, atheists, other religions); they often don't practice what they preach; millions of lives have been unnecessarily lost to these religious wars; the paedophile priests (especially of the RC church) have ruined the lives of thousands of innocent children around the world; diseases such as AIDS have effectively been able to spread thanks to churches banning contraception, causing even more suffering; women of eastern religions are treated as sub-human and treating unfairly due to their religious teachings; the list goes on . . .

The sooner these cults are disbanded, the better humanity will be as a whole

Even the TRUE religion is organised.
The first thing Jesus did when he commenced his ministry was to choose his Apostles. They were granted miraculous powers from Almighty God [ Jehovah Exodus 6;3]...through Jesus...which proved they were TRUE. Even though Almighty God Jehovah had originally set up the Jewish system, He was now using Jesus to change it. He did NOT change the rules of decency.
After Jesus, the organisation continued through Paul.

Preferable to dis-organised religion?

Seriously, religion is of itself, meaningless. What counts is your relationship with your creator God - is your name written in the Book of Life? No amount of church attendance or pontificating or being 'holier-than-thou' will deceive God. He knows our hearts and our minds and our motivations. Oh, and apart from not being able to fool God, he cannot be bribed or corrupted - which is more than can be said for man-made organisations, whether they be religious or not.

Religion when organized is the outer coat one gives for their activities.

Jesus said, "You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence... First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean. " Mathew 23:25,26

But the real essence of a person is within his heart. When the person heart wants to be good, do good, and tries again and again to achieve it but in vain, he has to search for God who can correct him. If at all someone could set a heart right, it must be The Creator Himself.

It's the single most harmful thing we've yet come up with. Personal spirituality and faith is fine, but institutionalised belief is nothing but brainwashing. If you came to Christianity/ Islam/ Neo-Paganism/ Buddhism etc. or for that matter Atheism or Agnosticism because you investigated for yourself and made up your own mind great, but if you're just a believer/nonbeliever because you were raised that way, then you are dangerous. Sorry to sound harsh, but you are. It's the people who take the time to actually test their beliefs who tend to be the best examples of them.

It depends on the kind of religion which were organized. There are now many cult religions who were organized by interested persons who claimed they are pastors or priest but they are not on a true religion., but cult religion.

A true religion which was founded by Jesus Christ as a man is stated in the bible and it is the Church of God. You will find it in the bible.

No organised church: CofE, RC, Methodist etc. forces you to participate, controls you in any way or limits your freedom. You don't even have to contribute a penny to the running of your local church. You can come and go as you please, if you please or when you please.

Communism or Fascism on the other hand, enslave people, brainwash them and kill people by the millions.
