Cuba would love to have you as a tourist. They will not refuse US citizens. The US dollar is accepted everywhere in Cuba. We have a military base in Cuba. If you search "cuba vacation" in google you can buy plane tickets to Cuba and you'll find quite a few Americans on the same vacation as you!

Cuba is a very safe, friendly, pretty, and festive country to visit, you should ask your government why you're not allowed to go to such a great place, yet they are allowed to come here...
I also remember hearing that you can visit countries like Cuba you just can't spend money there, but I don't know where I heard that from.

lilithdemonqueen, you're wrong about Venezuela. Americans are free to travel there without needing a special visa. I was there last year and didn't encounter any problems with immigration.

It's not against Cuban law for Americans to enter. Most Americans who do go through a third country. Immigration in Cuba knows US law on this matter and often doesn't stamp US passports because they want to keep dollars coming in.

Illegally, yes

Legally, NO

US citizens can only legally enter a foreign country with their US passport. Many countries do forbid US citizens from casually entering. North Korea, Iran, Venezuela, Sudan to name a few.

Any citizen of any country can enter another one as a visitor. In order to stay longer, you have to comply to the rules and laws of the country you go to. You can't just say "I want to move to ___________." then go there and live. You have to follow that countries laws on immigration. (Except if you come to the US apparently.)
