Disclaimer: This question seems to be a mockery on the surface, and while I admit that I did chuckle at the sight of my final wording for it, I really do wonder what kind of consensus there is on this subject.
Please answer the Title question with a choice from below, and answer the JS sub-question in your own words, if you'd like. Thanks!
A) One (as it says in the BoM)
B) Two, plus a Spirit, who is not yet a God, since he has not yet passed through mortality and been exalted (as in Gospel Doctrine Manual)
C) Three (as Joseph Smith taught)
D) Seven; the Three above, plus Adam (per Brigham Young), Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (per Joseph F. Smith in D&C 138)
E) Countless (as in D&C 132)

Musicyinghan: Check out the following website for quotes of prophets and other apostles regarding various doctrines of the Church:

I really like what they have to say about polytheism, for example.
Anyway, I am glad to see you're finding out more about our church. I am a lifelong member who has finally found out that the Church isn't true. It's a great church, though, and if you choose to live its teachings, regardless of whether you actually believe all of its claims or not (especially some of the more ridiculous ones), you'll be happier for it. Kolob only knows why their convert baptisms are declining... you'd think that such a strong, family-centered church would be expanding exponentially.

do the gods intermingle? Do they have time? I occurs to me that should you gain your godhood you would be quite busy reigning over your particular planet, the world attached, your plural goddess wives, talking to your prophets and all that administrative stuff??
to mock is not my intent, I just don't know how it would break down in the Mormon three tier structure and the constant demands for eternity of wives who must be constantly producing spirit children for the worlds population!
I'd say Joseph is mingling with other disappointed souls who thought they could pull a fast one here and there would be no consequences. Oops.

I've a Mormon friend, I think they believe in the 'oneness' of God. Meaning that there is 3 separate beings but they're of one mind. Jesus Christ is the son of God, but separate in body from God. This is opposite to the common Christian teachings of the Trinity. That means that Jesus has a demigod status because he works with the Father (or actually the Father works through Jesus), according to the Father's will. So effectively I think they believe that there's only 1 true God, and that Jesus is the Saviour and Lord, though not God himself. Humans have the capacity to become like Jesus Christ if they live a pure, righteous, worthy life, but they will not be 'Gods' and 'Goddesses' with the capital G.
That's what I've heard. I'm also currently visiting/investigating the LDS church so I'm still learning. But I've to say that some of the LDS teachings really do make sense..for eg. they believe that if a person does not have the opportunity to be introduced to the gospel in this lifetime, they will still be able to learn about it in the spirit world after physical death as there will also be missionaries/prophets in the spirit world teaching the gospel. I personally think it makes it fair to all, because people aren't condemned to hell just because they didn't get to learn about the gospel in their mortal lives (I stress on 'didn't get to learn', because if we're introduced to the gospel in this life and we refuse its teachings, then it's equivalent to rejecting God and we will get punished for that).
Edit: isn't that website sort of anti-mormon? i mean, all the quotes and 'quickfacts' that they put up there point to trying to prove how ridiculous the Church's beliefs are. i don't mean to be rude or anything, but if i were to find out more about the Church on the net, i'd rather go to an official church website which offers a neutral opinion to the beliefs or simply states the beliefs as they are. i'm one to think that anti-sites of any kind aren't the most reliable resources.

Did you even check the sources you listed? If you did you've taken things way out of context. No wonder your so confused. The answer to this question is simple. It is found in the 1st Article of Faith (See below).
You're obviously looking for reasons to disagree with the LDS Church. It's no wonder that you found some. People have a tendency of finding what they're looking for and believing what they want.

I would say "F" - all of the above
One - We worship God the Father, the Almighty, we recognize Him as our Creator, Father and Supreme Being.
Two - We worship God the Father through His Son Jesus Christ, we recognize Christ as Lord of the earth, Redeemer, Savior, King of Kings.
Three - We recognize three members of the Godhead as one in purpose and love, God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost.
Seven - Yes, all of those prophets I believe will eventually become gods...we do not worship them. We worship our Heavenly Father. He is OUR only God.
Countless - We believe that through eternal progression, we all have the potential to become LIKE our Heavenly Father, never above Him, He will always be OUR God, OUR Father, Supreme Creator...

Joseph Smith is still waiting for the resurrection so he mingles with our Father, Elder Brother Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit (another brother).

Hey Norris Almighty
I am beginning to believe as you do regarding the church. So how do you reconcile that you don't believe the church with remaining active in the church? I have been on an inactive tract for awhile.

Well...for a group that teaches "as man is, god once was -as god is, man shall be." I'd say their hoping they get to become one as well.
Only problem...outside of their teachings, how do they reconcile this with anything written in the Bible?
But thanks for the additional references. i see they can't come to an agreement...1, 2, 3, 7, infinite. interesting.

Doesn't matter how many gods there are. WE don' worship them. As Paul said, Tho there be that are called gods, whether on earth or in heaven (as there are gods many and lords many) for us there is but ONE God, our Heavely Father, and ONE Lord, His Son, Jesus Christ. (see Romans 8).

Mormons believe that if they obey all the commandments, they can go to heaven and be like God, they believe they can create their own world and their on people in it, just like God did with this world. That is false teachings. Satan was thrown out of heaven for trying to be God, so what makes them think that God would allow them to do the same thing that he punished Satan for doing. †

I think Paul in one of his letters to the Corinthians answered your question very well.
"For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him."
