I had an eating disorder a few years ago, when I was thirteen. I'm sixteen now, and have got over it. From personal experience, starving yourself, in the short term, will help you lose weight fast.
It'll also put your health in serious danger, drop your pulse rate so low your heart could stop, and so much more.

If you really want to lose weight- go to the gym. Walk lots, Go running.. take up a sport. Dance crazily around your room when no-one's watching. Be happy with yourself.AND EAT! (a healthy diet- cutting out all fats and calories..) Also, if you eat alot of wheat, try cutting that out of your diet too. It can be suprising how things can affect others.)
At the beginning, you'll notice no difference.. you'll be feeling 'What's the point in this? I'd rather be starving myself right now') but you'll notice a change a few months into it.. the weight will drop right off.
And, it will stay off.

Where-as, if you became anorexic, you'd be endangering your health, only to be put on a programme to put it all on again. It's pointless, mate.

Good luck.

Darling that is nothing. plus you are 14 so maybe you are just going through the chubby stage the majority of boys do. Losing 50 lbs in 6 months is actually kind of speedy in comparison to all the women trying to shed weight, they say the healthy was to go is a pound or 2 a week. Just move more, eat less, and maybe do some crunches. After you get a little more through puberty it will be easier for you to drop the gut. But seriously, it isnt massive.

yeah you lose weight..

but do you exercise? or is like 3 minute ab exercise done for you?

oh and how do you know if youve become anorexic? if you look like those creatures from a george romero flick, then you're it..

but dont trust what i say, go see a doctor..

and let me add, do you know a thing about BMI or Body Mass Index? There are people who are big boned or maybe runs in the family that is why it is not advisable to drop your weight drastically because maybe it will not complement on your body structure. GO ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT BMI. I am sure he knows what to do and explain it to you, that way, you will get peace of mind whether you are eating right or way too much for your body type.

Take care of yourself..Good luck!

I know you want to love your body, and that is exactly why you must not "fall into" anorexia. It is an illness. You will be forcing your body to "eat" its muscle in order to sustain your life. Your body will grow weak, and that includes your heart. Without proper nutrition your hair and skin will become dull and thin. Your eyes will lose their sparkle. In short, you will be draining the life away from you.

Love yourself, and take care of your body. It's great you want to lose weight, but you can lose weight and approach it with a healthy plan. Talk to your doctor, and ask for a referral to a nutritionist.

God Bless!

nothing works better than cardio! You body needs a certain amount of carbs so its not good to cut them out completely.. that no carb diet is a myth and can be dangerous. Yes some loose weight some dont.. everones body will respond differently. You need to keep trying until you find out what works best for you. KEEP UP THE CARDIO. LOTS OF IT. sisters a personal trainer

Instead of focusing on losing weight, why not focus on making the weight more attractive? You're at about the right age to start hitting the gym.

Start turning excess weight into muscle. It is hard work, but it will make you healthier and give you something to be proud of

You have to set a rediculous goal of very little calorie intake. I knew an Anorexic girl, she tried for low numbers like 500 - 600 calories per day. She also worked out a lot and probably burned waaaaaay more than she took in.

please dont do that !!! the thing witrh anorexia is that yeah, sure youll lose some weight... for while....maybe.... but you seriously mess up your insdes in a way that youll NEVER be able to properly recover!!
you will start to feel hungrier more often. your body, feeling threatened and hungry will turn the little you do eat into pure fat to stay longer!! you will not lose anything!!

if you feel so strongly abut losing wight, even willing to do something as drastic as to starve yourself, then why not try out the Ian smith diet. the "fat smash diet!"

its a healthy way to lose weight fast and keep it off!!

Trust me, you don't want to be anorexic. This is a serious problem that effects not only your weight, but your perception of yourself and your behavior. One cannot be fit and be anorexic. Those who deal with this problem have serious, sometimes life-threatening physical symptoms. The physical symptoms can be long-term and include hair loss, loss of teeth, heart failure, reproductive problems, and more. Not fun stuff.

Anorexia is not the way to go. Do it naturally, as you have been by eating the right way. Google "Anorexia" and you won't like the new you you're trying to become. Get professional help if you feel that way.
