Use a dropper or clean cloth dipped in milk or infant formula, letting the puppies taste it, to see if you can administer both fluid and nutriment.

Pray.

I'm glad you are going to take them to the vet.

For those of you who can't afford the vet, call your vets and ask if there are financial assistance. Also, contact your local agricultural extension offices to see if there are programs for low income pet owners.

Not much you can do at this time of night. If he's been eating, maybe he's full for now. Don't hover, just let nature take it's course. If you're that concerned, some vets have 24 hr emergency services. Look in the yellow pages for one and call. They'll be happy to give you advice over the phone. If the pup's still not eating tomorrow try to hand feed with a baby bottle, at least water.

Usually if a pup is too weak to survive, nature will take its coarse.Try keeping the pups warm with a heating pad set on low and a towel on top of it,place the pups on the towel and try feeding them some puppy formula,or get some can goat milk at a grocery and mix half and half with sterile water.Warm a small amount of it and with a small dropper only drop one drop of milk in mouth at a time, let it swallow it before dropping another drop in mouth. You can tell when stomach is ful.Other than this ,the chances for survival are very low.Good luck with the pups.

Wow, this is a scary situation. I worry that hypoglycemia could set it in if he is not eating. When my chihuahua was a puppy, we had to watch for hypoglycemia...it is a real problem until 4 months of age. And when she wasn't eating properly, we gave her Calvite on her gums...maple syrup would have worked, too. BUT, she was 8 wks old not 3 days old. I don't know if this is a safe suggestion for such a young pup. Keep him warm and see if there is anyway to get him to suckle. And be on the vet's doorstep at 8am.

make sure the puppy stays warm and that the mother is licking the puppy so that it will use the bathroom. other than that the puppy should be fine until you can get to the vet. you may have to start bottle feeding the puppy. your vet will tell you exactly what to do.

My little doggie (shes a 20 pound terror now) wasunder 2 pounds when we got her and very tiny. Take some milk and non wheat bread (or water works fine) and put peices of bread into the milk and then use a straw and scoop up the bits and gently open the puppies mouth and put it in and make sure he swallows so he doesn't starve till morning, it might be a problem of him not being able to eat the hard food or chew it make sure the food you give him is very soft.

It may have fading puppy syndrome,or have some other birth defect.Keep it warm ,and rub a little karo ( corn syrup ) on it's gums every few hours until you can get it to a vet.Good luck.

Don't give the puppy bread and milk,it's too young, and will not be able to swallow it!
