............?
Man supposedly evolved from Monkeys {Primates} They are our closest relation in the animal world, and it has been proven that Man can control an animals behavior....So....If you give Primates Tools and Weapons ... Would they learn how to use them ? Would they have to be taught ? or would they be curious, then leave them alone and resume their Monkey life ?
______________________________...
Then part #2 of this question is ......If they ignore what was presented to improve their lives, How could we have possibly evolved from them ?

Wow some great response's ....Some of you need to do a re-read I clearly said Primates......I'm also am not trying to a make an arguement for Creation-ism.Just looking for valid statements and possibly some links that I can read, Plus I do believe in G O D, but also think that evolution also plays a part.

Man did not "evolve" from monkeys. Men and monkeys belong to the same group of mammals: the Primates. This group is distinguished by having opposable thumbs, amoung other characteristics. When God told Adam to name the animals, I believe that classifying man with primates was following that directive.
Man learned to use tools, but it wasn't until 60-70k, years ago that our species emerged, (homohomosapiens) and diverse and creative use of tools is a mark of our species. Even homosapiens did not have this power, even though he had use of tools. (He existed about 150k years ago.)

Humans did infact evolve from apelike creatures... The key to that evolution was nessesity..... Climates changed so the creatures had to adapt. But it didnt happen over night It took hundreds of thosands of years for the simplest changes.
and no. Giving a chimp "tools and weapons wouldent change there "evolutionary" direction. All primates are slow to changes.. Case in point... God gave the "human primates" tools to better understand what it is he wished for his off spring. He sent a Teacher in the form of Jesus, to show us how to "use those tools". And yet after 2000 years , the "Human primates" are still flinging there crap at each other.

With Man in control of tools and weapons why bother to worry about primates. I'm more worried about the control behind the men that use the tools and weapons than the poor little primates. I doubt that primates would use tools or weapons, if given them they would look at them curiously and then go on their natural way using what God has given them to survive. I doubt that we evolved from such peaceful creatures we are clearly an unnatural phenomenon given our destructive nature and waring on one another to the will of elitists. So why worry about something as trivial as evolution?

#1, yes you can give them tools and teach them to use them. #2 is a good question. more than likely, they would leave them alone after inspecting them and having any fun they can think of if we simply dropped the tools in front of them. one thing you have to understand is evolution occurs out of necessity, if they have no need to learn, then why would they. why is it in the first days of man we could hunt nude, smelling like a dead foot, while now we have to mask and hide everything. simple, over the years the animals learn what is dangerous and what is safe. why did we start using the rock? because it was harder than our hand and could be thrown. why did we use a stick, because some animals were to big for a rock. why did we sharpen that stick? because some animals had hides to thick for a normal stick to pierce. why did we go after bigger animals? there were more of us. so you see, need brings forth evolution. if the monkey does not need a stick or a rock to get the fruit, he won't use it.

It's a chromasome evolution AS WELL as a mental evolution. A monkey is a monkey is a monkey whether you give it tools and weapons or not. Humans are a different species completely. You're comparing apples to oranges. Your feeble argument against evolution has made a turn for the worst, in your case.

humans did not evolve from any modern species. we share common ancestors with them, most recently with chimpanzees. monkeys are a type of primate, but are not identical with primates. it could be said that humans are apes, and further back humans are also primates, but we are not monkeys. it's easier to understand if you look at a diagram perhaps.
no one disputes that humans are smarter than the average ape or primate. it has been said that chimpanzees have the intelligence of a three year old human. one reason for this is our larger brain size relative to our bodies. but it's our similarities and not our differences that suggest that we share common ancestors. humans are classified as vertebrates, mammals, primates and apes because of various structural affinities. more recently genetic evidence has also been analysed.

We didn't evolve from chimpanzees or gorillas. The existing primates are nothing like the hominid that evolved into the Homo Sapiens. So your experiment would prove nothing.
In the other hand, chimpanzees DO know how to use tools. They use sticks to get termites out of their holes and rocks to open up nuts and even to fight with other chimpanzees. We just have to wait MILLIONS of years and they'd probably be something similar to the Homo Sapiens.

To answer both at the same time, we did not evolve from monkey or other primates. They are our cousins we had a common ancestor millions of years ago. We come from a long line of other hominid species that are now extinct. So no you can't teach them to be like us. It would take thousand so years to have them gain any type of meaningful consciousness.

Actually many primates in nature do use tools.
examples include using sticks to get at bugs in trees that they cannot reach with their fingers.
and yes, primates in captivity have been taught many things. Their is even currently a debate if Great Apes have the mental capacity to type or use sign language.

Monkeys do use tools but not as well as we do. We evolved to learn how to use and make more complex tools. Just for the picky I didn't say we evolved from monkeys. So anyways Monkeys would learn how to use some tools and not others because they aren't intelligent enough to understand how to use them or don't have a use for them ect.
