I LOVE IT!!! One of my fondest memories is going through my mom's old Betty Crocker cookbook from the 60's or 70's, and getting grossed out by the seafood section. We didn't eat fish in our house because my mom hated it, so I liked to read a seafood recipe to her and watch her make nasty faces. As a 5 year old, it made me laugh hysterically. Now I LOVE to read ALL cookbooks, but my heart will forever belong to my mom's Betty Crocker book.

No, you are definitely not the only one. I especially love the cookbooks with lots of tips and tidbits that comes along with the recipes --- and the ones that have facts and information about some of the ingredients. I currently have 300+ cookbooks and many of them I could not part with.
I love trying new recipes so when I first get a new cookbook, I too read it from cover to cover looking for that great recipe to add to my collection of favorites.
Some of my favorite cookbooks are the Cook's Illustrated Collection. They have so much information on how the recipe was created -- makes for really fun reading.
Like one of the other answerers, I too have fallen asleep while reading a cookbook. : )
Enjoy your new found recipes! Happy cooking!

Hello, I am Ntimid8r. And I am a cookbook-a-holic. (LOL)
I can spend hours reading cookbooks. I have over 300 cookbooks. I am obsessed with cookbooks especially the community cookbooks. They have the best recipes. I love shopping at thrift stores. You get the best cook books and they are inexpensive. I try a different recipe at least twice a week.

Not in the least! It's one of my favorite genres, then I have favorite sub-genres - such as celebrity chefs (love Julia), regional cuisines and various favorite ingredients (the garlic cookbooks out of Gilroy are fabulous). I have boxes of cookbooks in storage right now due to space issues in our current living situation but they are all good friends that I could hardly live without. I tend to read new ones from cover to cover so I can get a sense of what the book is about - I found that especially useful in regards to Barbara Kafka's Roasting cookbook: brilliant!

I love cookbooks. I used to have quite a collection, but I moved into a 5th wheel trailer and don't have the storage space now. I kept my favorites and gave the rest away. Broke my heart! I still collect loose recipes from the net, magazines, newspapers, friends, etc. I have even acquired four new ones that I couldn't resist.

Well you are not the only one to like cookbooks. Even I like them. Whenever Friday comes I always rush to the school library during lunch break to take cookbooks supposingly as a reference. I always like to try new recipes and I'm always successful in doing so.

You are not the only one. My husband loves cookbooks (and cooking) and has a collection of over 200. He figures if he finds 1 recipe in it that is a "keeper" it was worth the money.

My daughther haunts thrift stores and yard sales for old cookbooks. She has found some treasures from the 50s and 60s, some of the best and most endearing were created by churches and schools as fundraisers; family names, and ethnic recipes. Lots of fun for food history buffs.

No, not the only one. I do all the cooking. I'm always looking for something new.
I bake cakes all the time. I do a new cake every week.
I'm trying to maintain my 87 year old Mother's weight. And high carbs = best answer.
Do you go to sleep reading your cookbook, I do sometimes.
