hey you say she lent you that money,
I ask myself why lent??
I mean you shouldnt be the only person responsible on paying the rent, specially when is hard on you to collect some money to pay it. I think everyone should pitch in and give a share.

I thin she has the right to take her money back, since she lent it to you and if you ask her she will tell you she changed her mind.

I think from now on u should ask a share for the rent to everyone that live with you.

You backed your sister into a corner on paying her share of the rent and she resented it. That is obvious.
She sounds like a freeloader, and you need to get rid of her.
This is business.
If you plan on keeping any cash around the house, I would suggest getting a lock-box, or better yet, putting a keyed lock on your closet door to turn your closet into a "safe". That way, you can keep your housemates out of your stuff by locking it up.
I would also suggest getting roomies that are down with the concept of paying their fair share of the bills on time. Perhaps even meeting with them and establishing ground rules and writing them down and giving each one a copy. Failure to follow the rules is grounds for getting kicked out.

I am to be the bearer of bad news but your sis sounds like she is dishonest. Ask yourself...why did she disappear. If she did take the $$ and felt it was OK she would have told you. But let her explain Y she has been MIA for a few days???

I have no idea whether she took it, but...if she lent it to you she shouldn't have taken it back, you should not have to borrow your rent money, and two adults living with you should be helping to pay anyway unless they are disabled and unable to work.
