Running and walking are great exercises. If you are looking for strength training exercises, squats, lunges, and leg curls are good basic exercises. Exercises you might have to research a bit are called bridges, hip abduction, hip adduction, and quadrupeds. These are great exercises to tone the muscle underneath, and as you lose what you want to lose, the stuff you want people to see will start to peak through nice and toned.
