If so how did you fast? What did you do when you did? Atheist no need to comment. We already know that you're atheist and thus disagree. It's no big deal.

I know many people who fast to various degrees. Some fast a meal, or a certain food, or activities that draw their attention from God, like TV, email, etc. As for me, when I fast I go all the way. Water and vitamins only, and 100% of my time spent in worship, prayer, and Scripture. Very little sleep. Because of this, I have never fasted beyond 4 days. At that point, I have usually accomplished the purpose, and to do more might begin to damage my body. That's not the intent. I never fast on a whim, or because some other group is fasting and asks me to join them. I only fast when I feel specifically led to do so by the Spirit. And yes, in each time, I have seen the fruits-- whether in my own life, or in the lives of those I was fasting for.

I have prayed and seen great results and the fruits were very evident. I cannot say I have fasted and prayed unless I was asked to by the person. When I have fasted in the past I fasted once with juice only and another time with water only. Coming off a fast with water only, I strongly recommend you approach food slowly. It can cause terrible stomach spasms and be painful. I generally only go three days but have friends who have fasted much longer. I personally don't see the benefit of fasting verses not fasting. I don't dismiss it I just don't generally see the need since I do receive results with my prayers. In cases of special situations I would likely fast. Keep in mind there are many different fasting methods and choices of what kind should be left to the individual

Yes, my prayer group and I have experienced many fruits from it whether healing, soul saved or specific issues. We fast a meal before getting together for prayer. Some fast the whole day or a week. I've done fasting with only water.
The thing is God is not a genie. Attitude is important. The following video sums it.

My aunt has, and has seen the fruits of it. She has fasted over money, her relationship with God, and for other people. She usually fasts for 7 days and only drinks water.

I have never fasted myself. I don't really understand the entire concept, and I need more information on it. There isn't a point in doing something if you don't know what you are doing it for. But if you are fasting, I wish you the best. God bless!

I've prayed for people but don't believe in fasting. Sometimes I make additional prayers for same person & yes I have seen results. I had a co-worker who was a terrible alcoholic (from his youth) and was going dnhill he finally changed after getting into a fight at a restaurant near the job; he went back to AA 4yrs ago & is doing well. But I think other ppl in the office prayed for him too

Yes, my player cousin settled down and got married a little while after we fasted and prayed for him.

Basically my whole family scattered around the states fasted on Sabbath and prayed for him.

How did we fast? Um, just don't eat anthing the day(s) you're fasting. You can still have water or juice, though.

I fasted from the time I woke up until 1 pm...and I fasted for my friend's family who said if she became Mormon they would kick her out...well she's been going to church for a month now, and they told her she had to leave Monday(last Monday)...well they never mentioned it later and yesterday before they went to dinner, her dad apologized to her for being so rude about it...

So it didn't happen immediately, but 5 days later is good!

--------------

About how I fast....Mormons are really supposed to fast for 24 hours or 2 consecutive meals. I fasted for breakfast and lunch(and you KNOW I had food ready at 1 pm to eat LOL!) and you start your fast with a prayer and end it with a prayer, and you fast with a purpose...last week my fast was for a my friends family to accept the fact she's Mormon...this week(even though you only have to do it once a month) I'm going to fast for another friend because she is fighting for the custody of her kids from her ex-husband.

I've prayed (never fasted) for my older brother every time he goes to the hospital (grave danger of dying) and he's always ok and a lot better.

Me and my little have a little ritual of praying together when someone gets badly hurt and it always works.
