here's the case

i live in new york ( upstate )
i graduated in 2006 , ( engineering degree )

but i worked at this call center for 6 months ( mar - august )

what had happend was that i got fired when they were trying to make me full time , they checked my attendence report ( Due to my absenses which was against the company policy ,but i did call in sick whenever i took leaves )

Now i am home , looking for engineering jobs , but i don't think i would be able to find anything any time soon . so would very much like to know if i am eligible to get any unemployment benefits .

Apply and see what they say. Since you were fired for cause, it's possible that you won't be eligible, but the unemployment comp people will decide that.

I don't think you have enough time on the job to be eligible for unemployment. Check with the NY Department of Employment to be sure. In most states you're not eligible for unemployment from a part time job and you need 6 months of full-time employment before you can be eligible.
