"When Allah sent Muhammad, everyone still remained Muslim" --- What??
There was no Islam before Muhammad, Muhammad made it up -- nearly 700 years after the death and Resurrection of Jesus and around 4,000 years after Moses -- a real Muhammad-come-lately in the world of Middle Eastern religions.
Jesus was sent by the God of Abraham. The God of Abraham sent a lot of people to lead, and teach, and interact with the people of Yahweh.
Jesus came to teach what Jeremiah preached -- that God would write Yahweh's law upon people's hearts. Jer. 31:31-34. Of course Jeremiah was preaching Yahweh's message 1,000 years before Muhammad. Jeremiah, like Jesus, wasn't much liked by the main-stream Israelites.
So, people don't need the laws of Moses - Leviticus and Deuteronomy -- laws the Muslims still observe. God's written the law on our hearts.
The problem is, it's often difficult for people to feel God in their lives, or feel God's law on their hearts, when they are focused on the ancient, now-pointless, laws of Moses.
(And by the way, Jesus wasn't the 'king of the Jews,' that was a derogatory title given to him by some of his enemies.)
Godspeed.

Good question. Jesus was born into the Jewish ethnicity, and was a practicing Jew. A "Complete Jew" can be a technical term for Christians because Jesus was sent to fulfill Jewish prophecies about a Messiah or Savior, and The Messiah completes Judaism. So if all Jews believed someone else was their Jesus, I guess they'd call themselves Christians or they'd use "Completed Jews". Practicing Jews to this day do not believe Jesus is the Messiah, and are still waiting for him. "Christianity" is referring to following Jesus Christ and His teachings. Jews don't use the New Testament, because it starts with Jesus, and has teachings based on Him. Jews also follow most of the traditions (such as not eating pork, and wearing a prayer shawl when praying) from the Old Testament, while Christians tend not to follow them so closely. Many Christians believe in the Trinity- Father (God), Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. But Judaism only refers to 1 and only 1 god. The Trinity is a little tricky to understand because Christianity is monotheistic. I hope that clears things up! : )

In a nutshell, Jesus changed the way the old way of doing things. Much like Muhammad from how I understand it. Christians are "followers of Christ" (Who they believe was Jesus). Technically speaking, Muslims also follow the old testament right (Moses, Noah etc.) ? So, Christianity came about as a new form of worship, just as Muslims worship has also evolved. Without belief that the prophet that the old testament was talking about was sent, both faiths would probably still believe in Judaism.
****EDIT****
The old laws were not thrown away when Jesus came. Basically, Jesus came to fulfill the prophecy of the old testament and make some of the old laws (Such as animal sacrifice) no longer necessary. Things like the Ten Commandments were integral, so this and many of the previous teachings are still accepted. By fulfilling the prophecy it changed the way the religion was practiced, and so a new sect was formed called "Christians". He was born a Jew, and so he followed the Jewish faith and tried to explain to his followers how to live a good life. He was taunted with the "King of the Jews" when he was crucified, however, on his birth the Wise men said they were looking for the king of the Jews.

Jesus was not a messenger, or a prophet sent by God. He is God incarnate, or God in the Flesh.
Yes, Jesus was a Jew, but the Jews (Pharisees) did not accept Him as the Messiah (who He said He was). The title, "King of the Jews" comes from the Romans, who put it on the cross, but the Pharisees were angry about that, and wanted it to say "He said He was the King of the Jews." But, Pilot wouldn't change it.
But, when the Jews finally accept Him as the Messiah, they will realize that the title was true afterall.
Jewish laws were meant for the Jews. The Levitical Laws. Laws about what to eat, and who to marry, and health laws, and sacrifices, etc.
The Ten Commandments are the Laws God wrote on the tablet for everyone. Those are still under effect. Jesus said "If you love Me, you will obey MY COMMANDS." Since Jesus is God incarnate, He meant the ten commandments.
We are not Jews. We are the Gentiles who have been grafted in. We are under grace.

Jesus is the fulfillment of the prophesies there will be a day that people live by faith. He is the new priest and brings us to the Father so that we are justified through Him, and not the law. The Law was to show us of what is to come....instead of sacrificing the lamb every year, Jesus was the final Lamb whose blood atones for all sin that we no longer sacrifice animals. The sins listed are the same but the consequence of death by stoning are now different because the awaited Messiah has come and is alive now. Jesus has the ability to give life by believing in Him and death is from disbelief of Him. All that is listed is beneficial for us so that if we eat the clean foods listed we will have a long life. Jesus sent His apostles to preach the good news of Jesus Christ and the first Christians were all Jews by the thousands.
When allah who is not our god sent muhammad, he went to a pagan city and found a sinner who did not know how to read or write or obey Jesus or the laws of the Torah. Muhammad was the first muslim. No one was a muslim before muhammad.

Jesus told the Jewish religious leaders: “The kingdom of God will be taken from you and be given to a nation producing its fruits.” (Matthew 21:43) Christ’s disciples soon found
themselves “objects of hatred” from many sources. First were the Jewish religious leaders. Little wonder that the Christians quickly attracted their attention! The Christians had high principles of morality and integrity, and they delivered a hope-inspiring message with fiery zeal. Thousands abandoned Judaism and embraced Christianity. To the Jewish religious leaders, Jesus’ Jewish disciples were nothing more than apostates! These angry leaders felt that Christianity nullified their traditions.
Second, Christians incurred the hatred of pagan worshipers. For example, in ancient Ephesus, the making of silver shrines of the goddess Artemis was a profitable business. But when Paul preached there, a considerable number of Ephesians responded, abandoning the worship of Artemis. With their trade threatened, the silversmiths rioted.

In your search for answers, Jesus shouldn't be put in a small box as a comfortable way to look at religion. Keep your mind and heart open. Jesus Is. He is hard to define, and easy to accept. There is a lot of controversy out there. Just remember, with Jesus, it's all about love. Love God, love your neighbor, etc. Good Luck in finding your answers.

I believe in the bible that it claims Jesus was sent by god as the Messiah. The old testament of the bible talks extensively about this. However the Jewish leaders never recognized him to be the Messiah. This is where the two religions split. People who believe Jesus to be the Messiah are Cristian's, and people who think he was just a wise religious man are Jewish. People who are Jewish are still waiting for their Messiah. The two religions share the old testament of the bible, the new testament is used only by Christians..Jesus was sent to fix the Jewish people or make things better you might say, and therefor certain rules and laws changed.

Jesus was the son of God, a Saviour, not just another good man, He was God in the flesh, and came and dwelt among us. We are now saved by grace thru faith and not of works, lest any man should boast. Read Eph. 2 verses 8&9. Jesus was crucified on a cross and arose from the grave, resurrected by God the Father, to wash away all of mans sins once for all. Now if we confess our sins and admit that we need a Saviour we can be cleansed and have eternal life in Heaven. Jesus did away with the law, no more sacrifices have to be done, the veil in the temple was torn in half, according to Jewish tradition even the whole temple itself was cracked down the middle, Jesus was the perfect sacrifice, his perfect blood shed once for all mankind. Hebrews chapter 9 explains it. If you would like to be a Christian and follow Jesus just say this simple sinners pray believing on him and you will be saved, just say, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

Well to put it very short and very sweet, Jesus "The Son of God" was sent by his Father "God" to fulfill the Law of Moses, and make intercession between Mortal Man and God the Father and Provide a way for Man to become Immortal Again.
Adam and Eve were immortal. When they fell they became mortal. Jesus came to Provide a Way for Man to become immortal again.
Jesus was Half Mortal Human (Mary's Son) and Half Immortal (The only son of the Father God born in Mortal Flesh)
It is true he was a Jew. But he fulfilled all the Laws of Moses, which in turn put in place a New Way of Doing Things.
Sadly Most "Christians" simply "Don't Get it"
