Also check out Kea Lani Hotel Wailea, Maui & Waikoloa, Hawaii.
These are the places I would stay, all of the hotels are out of Waikiki right on the beach.

Depends on the Island. If you're looking for luxury + privacy (and money really isn't an issue): Oahu - The Kahala (ask for one of their newly renovated rooms), Halekulani (in Waikiki, but private and elegant), or JW Marriott Ihilani (out of town, but one of the top high end properties on island. Maui - Four Seasons Wailea is known as one of the top resorts in U.S. (5-diamond hotel), Grand Wailea and the Fairmont Kea Lani (all suites hotel) are not bad either. Kauai - Grand Hyatt Kauai or Princeville Resort Big Island - Four Seasons Hualalai (5-diamond hotel).

On Kauai, you should check out Glo Manor. It is a large house that is rented out (by the room) for vacation rentals. Aninni Beach, right outside the driveway gates, is perfect for lounging, wading, and snorkeling. Princeville is just down the road with several fine dining establishments. Kauai is a much slower pace than Honolulu, which is better for a honeymoon, in my opinion.
For romance, you can't beat a sunset dinner with a view of Bali High.

I'm assuming you are staying somewhere in Waikiki. So, what about "Hilton Hawaiian Village" or "Sheraton Manoa Surf rider Hotel". Both are located right on the beach and price range are pretty much the same. Very high end hotels. I have actually stayed in Hilton Hawaiian Village with my family and I relly loved staying there. Very convienient. Bars, restaurants, stores, spas, day care, etc are all in one place. Room is kinda' small, but, I think it depends on which building you choose.
conglatulation and good luck
